School is almost here, and we’ve got FOUR (that's right, four) chances to kick off the year together! Come hang out, meet some new people, grab some free food, and see what Journey House is all about.

For many of us, the fall semester has either already started or will begin within the next few weeks. And with a new school year comes a new chapter in our stories.

Some chapters are exciting. Some are confusing. Some don't make much sense until we look back on them later. And sometimes, the most important part of a story is simply having a place where you can tell it.

The truth is: Stories matter! And at Journey House, YOU MATTER!

We are offering a simple way to welcome students as they come back for the new year: A welcome kit. And we are hoping to give out as many as we can.

You can HELP us! With your support we can welcome young people, and let them know they matter. You can support us by sponsoring a kit (or two) for a suggested donation of $20.

Hey Students!

We are beginning a new conversation and bible study tomorrow night! We will be wrestling with a question that has come up multiple times: Why does suffering exist?

Each week we'll unpack suffering and ultimately love, explore other questions related to this big one, discover some tools on how spirituality can guide us through suffering, and build community with one another.

You aren't alone in your suffering. Nor are you alone whenever you ask: "Where are you God?"

We'll also have free Pizza and snack. Invite a friend and both you and your friend will receive a gift.

What do we do with all the pain? In a world filled with tragedy, trauma and war, we all must reckon with suffering. Does it have any value? Is suffering to be avoided at all costs? Is there a deeper meaning to pain? We will wrestle with those questions and those you've been carrying! The last 20 min...

Congratulations Micheal, our winner of our $50 gift card! Thanks to all those who filled out our survey. We are going over the responses and they are helpful as well plan a MEANINGFUL Young Adult Ministry! Oh, and there will be other opportunities for you all to learn some gift cards in the future!

Some other things to note:

We are opening our house Tuesdays 11am-2pm for SOUL CARE. This is an intentional space where you can take a few moments to breathe, rest, recharge, and jump back into your life. Whether you come in for a few minutes for free tea/coffee and some silence or a conversation with a clergy person, or you want to stay for a few hours being creative using one of our stations -- this space is FOR you!

If you are a Young Adult looking for ways to make connections with other young adults across denominational lines and you'd like to make an impact... consider joining our YA leadership team. For a minimal impact on time you can help shape our ministry for both YA and students. If interested, leave a comment and Pastor Ben will reach out!

Hey Students!

We are finishing up our Sci-Fi Series this Thursday (tomorrow). Then starting next week we are working through questions submitted by students like you. We are kicking off the rest of the fall wrestling with a question I am sure many of us struggle with: Why does God allow suffering to exist?

Faith is messy! Life is messier! Don't go it alone!
