🤝 Meet Our Students

Will and Samanda have been training with us for 8 years, and you can usually find their grandma and other family members cheering them on during classes and events. Will is a probationary black belt and senpais several classes, and Samanda is now a Brown 1.

They first decided to sign up for classes after a friend invited them, but stayed because the instructors welcomed them, were very patient and compassionate, and were willing to think outside the box to help the kids learn in a way that worked for them.

They love that RSMA staff care about them like family, are never disrespectful, and are always encouraging. In addition to teaching important skills and improving their self-worth, instructors have also been people they can talk to without feeling judged, and the advice they’ve been given has helped with more than just karate.

They say that self-confidence is one of the most valuable skills they’ve learned so far.

“First we crawled, then we started to walk, and now we are running to home plate.”

Will and Samanda are looking forward to continuing their training and going all the way to the top. They are always quick to tell people about the impact RSMA has had on them and encourage others to start their training.

We are so proud of the growth we’ve seen in Will and Samanda, as well as the smiles and enthusiasm they bring into classes. 🤗

📢 Just a reminder to everyone that tonight is Tuesday Spar! 📢

In addition to every Saturday, students have the opportunity to obtain 2 additional spar classes each month. The 2nd Thursday and the last Tuesday!

Due to low enrollment, we've unfortunately had to make the decision to close our after-school program for this year.

We appreciate your support of our other programs and we look forward to seeing everyone in for regular classes.

🤝 Meet Our Staff ✨

Ms. Lily began working with us in 2021 and currently runs our intermediate class, as well as helping with Pee-Wee and Junior classes. She also helps with our after school program, summer camp, and Parents Night Out.

When she’s not at the dojo, Ms. Lily spends a lot of time practicing music, and photography. She can play multiple instruments including violin, viola, cello, bass, and some piano. She has also spent time as part of a choir.

Ms. Lily’s favorite part of her job is getting to meet all our amazing students, being part of their journeys, and watching them grow. She says her time at RSMA has boosted her confidence and helped her learn how to push through frustration and setbacks. Her years as an instructor have taught her how to cater to her students’ needs so they can succeed.

To encourage people to give Martial Arts a try, Ms. Lily says,
“Martial Arts are a great way to be active while learning how to be confident, strong, and so much more. Martial Arts almost always caters to what you’re looking for.”

We love Ms. Lily and her willingness to jump in and help wherever she’s needed. We’re grateful to have her with us at RSMA.
