Julian Jussila comes to Ripley Schools with 8 years of experience as a band director, teaching most recently at Cushing Public Schools. She is a 2014 Cushing High School graduate under band directors Danny and Danna White, who are her parents. She received the Bachelors Degree of Instrumental and General Music Education from the University of Oklahoma in 2018. She studied saxophone under Dr. Jonathan Nichol, Professor of Saxophone and Director of the OU School of Music.
Ms. Jussila took the opportunity to participate in the 2025 OU Conducting Symposium, where she improved her conducting skills with Dr. Caroline Hand, OU Director of Bands, Dr. William Wakefield, OU Director of Bands Emeritus, and renowned band composer Dr. Frank Ticheli. Ms. Jussila enjoys roller skating, cooking, bicycle riding, and she recently learned how to surf.
