🔥 Youth Grillers Needed! 🔥

Ready to fire up the grill and show off your skills? Join the 4-H Grill Master Challenge! We need a couple more youth to complete both of our teams!

We are looking for:

One Junior High (Grades 6–8) youth to grill beef
One Senior High (Grades 9–12) youth to grill lamb

This is a great opportunity to build your grilling skills, represent 4-H, and take on a fun challenge!

The 2026 Lauderdale County Fair Exhibit Guide is now available to help you prepare for this year’s fair.

Exhibitors of all ages are encouraged to begin planning their entries in Cultural & Domestic Arts, Sewing & Textile Arts, Culinary Arts, Photography, Horticulture & Field Crops, and 4-H & FFA Exhibit Boards.

Review the exhibit classes, lot descriptions, and department rules now so your entries are ready when exhibit registration and drop-off begin.

Exhibit drop-off will be:
Sunday, September 13 | 3:00–5:00 p.m.
Monday, September 14 | 2:00–7:00 p.m.

Cash premiums, Best of Show recognition, and selected State Fair entry opportunities will be available. We look forward to showcasing the talent and hard work of our community at the 2026 Lauderdale County Fair.

We had a great time making Chow Chow earlier this week. The kitchen at the Lauderdale County Extension office was full of laughter, conversation, fellowship, and the great smells of the chow chow processing. The next canning class will be in October.

Support the next generation of leaders in Lauderdale County at the Lauderdale County 4-H Chicken Show and Auction.

Join us on Tuesday, September 15, during the Lauderdale County Fair as local 4-H youth showcase the hard work, responsibility, and dedication they have put into raising their Chick Chain birds.

Chicken Show: 5:00 p.m.
Location: Livestock Pavilion

Chicken Auction: 6:30 p.m.
Location: Fair Main Stage

Auction pens of three will include Black Golden Laced Wyandottes, White Rocks, and Buff Orpingtons. Every dollar raised through the auction goes directly back to the young people who raised these birds.

Your support is an investment in Lauderdale County youth, helping them build confidence, responsibility, agricultural knowledge, and lifelong skills. We invite families, businesses, and community members to attend, bid, and celebrate the accomplishments of our local 4-H’ers.

Lauderdale County Fair Open Junior Livestock Shows
September 16–19

The Lauderdale County Fair invites youth exhibitors to participate in this year’s Open Junior Livestock Shows. Classes include breeding sheep, market lambs, goats, beef cattle, and swine, as well as showmanship opportunities.

Show Schedule
• Breeding Sheep — Wednesday, September 16
Registered breeding ewes and rams; showmanship
Registration begins at 3:00 p.m. | Show begins at 5:00 p.m.

• Market Lambs — Thursday, September 17
Market lambs and commercial ewes; showmanship
Registration begins at 3:00 p.m. | Show begins at 5:00 p.m.

• Goats — Friday, September 18
Market goats and breeding does; showmanship

Update @ 5 pm - all egg plant are gone 🙏💖

We had a very kind gentleman come in today & donated a bag full of eggplants 🍆 from his garden for the FREE PRODUCE share stand! 💖 these can be used to make Parmesan chips as a kid friendly snack, countless eggplant casseroles or fried up for a crunchy snack. Personally - I like to make these as a stir fry the way I would a zucchini or roasted with garlic, butter & seasonings in the oven.

Y’all come get some beautiful eggplant today 🥹 to cook or try! We are located at 200 Crain St Ripley TN & open from 8 AM - 5 PM
