At Cactus creek Ranch In Cameron County, the Yellow-billed Cuckoo is the primary cuckoo species that nests in the area. They can typically arrive in South Texas in mid-April breeding through September. Unlike some Old World cuckoos, Yellow-billed Cuckoos at Cactus Creek Ranch in South Texas usually build their own nests and raise their young, though they are occasionally known to lay eggs in the nests of other birds.

Baby titmice ("titmouses") are born naked and without the famous crests. The signature crest, or "top," begins to grow as they reach their fledgling stage around 14 to 18 days old. It is normal for younger babies and recent fledglings to have a bad hair day!

I have a “Ready Room” in my home honoring the men in my life who served and the men and women who died at their side.
Anthony Joseph Bogatto-Army who taught me, “ If you panic you could die.”
Archie Glen Donahue- USMC- “A firm handshake, smile and joke is as swift as a sword.”
Dean None Caswell- USMC- “Are you ready?”
My response: Ready for what?
His last words to me before he passed,” It’s your turn to be strong.”
I called all these men, Dad, and I am forever grateful for the love they showed me, but above all the lessons I learned from them.
Share the stories of why there is a Memorial Day!
Please…for love…for respect…a single story.
I loved all three of these men with the same passion they showed fighting beside the men and women who died at their side. War affects all who touch it and the generations that follow.
