BUSY WEEKEND IN CROSS COUNTRY
Five of the six FAC schools participated in Southern Ohio on Saturday at several cross country events.
CIRCLEVILLE KIWANIS INVITATIONAL
Over 550 High School & Middle School student athletes were at the annual Circleville Fall KIWANIS Cross Country Invitational.
High School Boys
Fairfield Union easily won the boys division scoring 36 points with about a 50 point margin over Unioto & then CHILLICOTHE was 3rd.
Sherman's boys squad had 87 points & the Cavaliers came in with 104 points.
There were a total of 24 schools that scored team points as 227 runners were recorded running the 5k run.
Fairfield Union had three of the top 4 runners to claim the championship.

Hillsboro Corbin Winkle was 7th in the race, Chillicothe Donald Hurff came in 9th place in the race...he was followed in 10th place by teammate Jayden Beverly.
Rason Brunk of Hillsboro was 20th, Avery Wightman of Washington CH was the Blue Lions top finisher coming in 24th. Wyatt Putney of Washington CH came in 101st in the big field of runners.
High School Girls
Fairfield Union won as well the high school girls division scoring 53 team points.
Anna Conrad from the school captured the individual top honor in a field of 146 female student athletes in the race.
Only 13 girls teams had enough eligible runners for schools to score team points. There were 18 other schools that fielded at least one runner in the division.
Unioto was runner up with 68 points & CHILLICOTHE came in 3rd with 103 points.
HILLSBORO Lady Indians came in 5th place.

WASHINGTON CH had only three runners in the race
Katherine McCallum of Chillicothe had a top 10 finish coming in 9th place. Jacilyn Williams of Hillsboro just missed coming in 11th overall about 8 seconds from the top 10.
Top finisher for the Lady Lions was Addison Weaver who finished 124th overall.
Middle School Boys
Nine teams compete for the team title & 14 other schools fielded at least one runner in this division that saw 92 student athletes involved.
As they did the high school divisions, Fairfield Union won this division as well. The Falcons scored 68 points with Logan Elm slipping into the runner up slot with 88 points & Unioto came in 3rd with 90 points.
WASHINGTON CH finished 8th in the team scoring.
CHILLICOTHE only had 4 runners & HILLSBORO three so both schools weren't eligible for team scoring (you need at least 5 runners).
Anthony Shoaf of London won the individual title.
Alexander Read of Hillsboro came in 5th, Levi Wood of Chillicothe was 10th & Blue Lions Caleb Atkinson was 22nd overall.
Middle School Girls
Just like the middle school boys division, a lot of teams were represented, but only 10 schools were eligible for team scoring & 15 other schools had at least one runner.
Logan Elm won the team title with 67 points...Bishop Flaget had 93 points & Logan Hocking was 3rd with 99 points.
Other area schools saw Westfall 4th, Liberty Union 6th, Fairfield Union came in 7th place & Unioto 9th.
WASHINGTON CH had three runners in the race & all were in the top half, HILLSBORO had 2 runners & CHILLICOTHE one.
Gabrielle Maranza of Bishop Flaget won the race.
Kearston Archer of Chillicothe came in 12th.
Blue Lions (all 8th graders) Eva Bennett was 13th, Anna Tackage was 16th & Abigail Huff was 46th place
Emarey Schurman of Hillsboro was 25th & Parker Wilkins came in 32nd place.
VINTON COUNTY CC INVITATIONAL
Both JACKSON & GREENFIELD MCCLAIN participated in the Vinton County Invitational.
High School Boys
Parkersburg, West Virginia won the team title taking the 2-3-4 slots in the individual race. They had 29 points as a team.
Fisher Catholic just edged out the host school for 2nd place as the Irish had 72 points & the Vinton County Vikings finished with 73.
JACKSON came in 5th of the 11 teams that scored.
Top finisher was Matthew Gibson who was 15th out of 126 runners
GREENFIELD MCCLAIN had four runners (need 5 for team score) with Dart Stovall the Tigers top finisher in 80th place.
High School Girls
Just like the boys division it was Parkersburg, Fisher Catholic & Vinton County in the top 3 slots.
Parkersburg had 4 runners in the top 10 & complied 36 points. Fisher Catholic was 2nd with 83 points with Vinton County coming in a close 3rd with 85 points.
GREENFIELD MCCLAIN had enough runners & finished 10th & JACKSON was 11th in team scoring.
Top Finishers in the field of 110 runners included McClain Lady Tigers Laura Stevenson in 17th place & Jackson Abigail Thompson was 43th.
Middle School Boys
Athens won the Junior boys division with three of their runners in the top 10. They scored 45 team points.
Ravenwood, West Virginia middle school was runner up with 51 points, Vinton County again came in 3rd place with 91 points & JACKSON finished 4th with 94 points as 86 runners participated.
Jackson has two runners in the top twenty with Griffen Michael coming in 12th & Mason Malone in 17th place.
GREENFIELD MCCLAIN had only one runner & that was Isaac Mincy who came in 42nd.
Middle School Girls
Athens captured the MS Girls Division scoring 42 points as 57 runners were in the event.
JACKSON Middle School was runner up with 54 points with 2 top twenty finishers.
GREENFIELD MCCLAIN had only 4 runners & if they just had one more could have been in the running for high team placement
Lady Tigers Lila Banks was 5th & Kaleigh Freeze was 7th in the individual race.
Ironladies Alliah Michael was 15th place & Jaeden Hebert finished 17th.
