As students head back to school, let's work together to keep every trip to and from school safe.

Remember these important school bus safety tips:
🛑 Always stop when a school bus has its red lights flashing and stop arm extended.
🚦 Slow down and stay alert in school zones and near bus stops.
👀 Watch carefully for children crossing the street—they may be difficult to see.
📵 Eliminate distractions and put your phone away while driving.
⏰ Allow a little extra time during your commute to help keep everyone safe.
A few extra moments of patience can make a lifetime of difference. Thank you for doing your part to protect our students, bus drivers, and families this school year!

Gallia County Healthy Kick Start, available through the partnership of GVESC and Gallia County Health Department, is a fun, low stress event for the families and students preparing for the new school year. Healthy Kick Start will be held at the Gallia County Health Department on August 15, 2026, from 11:00 - 2:00 pm. Focusing on the new school year, students will receive school supplies and immunizations while parents will receive information from the agencies to provide a support system throughout the year. Kona Ice, Magic Mirror Photos, face painting and balloon art for the kids will be free for all that attend. Cartoon characters will be walking around the event. After visiting all agencies, students can select a grand prize of his/her choice.
