Students in Mrs. Jovita Gonzalez's class enhanced their comprehension skills through a dramatic interpretation of a scene from Amplify Reading's Red Scarf Girl and Narrative. Students took on various roles, including Ji-Li, Dad, Mom, Grandma, and siblings, with additional narration provided by their peers.

7th grade math students in Mrs.Carolina Garcia’s class explored the area of a circle through a hands-on activity. Students cut a circle into sections and rearranged the pieces to create a shape that resembles a parallelogram/rectangle.

They discovered how the circumference of the circle and its radius connect to the dimensions of the new shape.

7th & 8th Grade Girls Volleyball Tournament

Today, our Legendary students participated in an Authors’ Purpose Gallery Walk! 📝🔍

Students read a variety of stories and worked together to identify the author’s purpose while supporting their answers with evidence from the text. 📖💡

Working with partners gave our students the opportunity to strengthen their communication, collaboration, and critical-thinking skills while learning from one another! 🤝🗣️

📣 IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR VMS FAMILIES 🐍❤️🖤

Parents and guardians, please take a moment to review this important reminder regarding student spectators at Veterans Middle School sporting events.

For the safety and supervision of our students, all student spectators must attend sporting events with an adult. The accompanying adult must remain with the student for the entire game and is responsible for supervising them until they are picked up.

🚨 Students may not be left at sporting events without adult supervision.

Please review the attached graphics for additional information in English and Spanish, and help us make sure our sporting events remain safe and enjoyable for everyone.
