☀️ Summer Break at Art & Asanas ☀️

As another wonderful season comes to a close, I’m feeling incredibly grateful for all of our students, families, and creative moments shared together at Art & Asanas.

Summer is a special time to slow down, reconnect, and make memories with the people we love. Whether you’re traveling, spending time outdoors, enjoying family gatherings, or simply sharing quiet moments together, these experiences help fill our hearts and inspire our creativity.

This photo is a beautiful reminder that family time is precious. The laughter, adventures, and connections we build today become the memories we carry with us tomorrow. ❤️

Thank you for being part of our Art & Asanas community. I hope your summer is filled with joy, relaxation, and meaningful moments with family and friends.

We can’t wait to welcome everyone back to our residential studio in September for another season of creativity, mindfulness, learning, and fun!

Have a beautiful summer, and we’ll see you soon! 🎨✨

✨ So proud of this moment ✨

A huge congratulations to our Art & Asanas student Lily for receiving an Honorable Mention at this weekend’s Festival of the Arts 🎨💫

Lily has put in so much time, patience, and heart into her work. As a young artist, she has explored multiple techniques—layering, texture, color blending, and mixed media—all while learning to trust her creative instincts. That growth doesn’t happen overnight… it takes dedication, practice, and the courage to keep going.

And this is the result 🤗
A beautiful, expressive piece that truly sparkles, just like her effort and spirit.

Moments like this are exactly why I love what I do. Watching our students grow, take risks, and shine in a public art space is incredibly rewarding 💖

Keep creating, Lily, we are so proud of you! 🌟

✨ Student Spotlight ✨

The attention to detail in this beautiful project is something truly special. For her very first piece, she didn’t just create the artwork—she took it to the next level by hand-painting the frame and carefully adding beaded embellishments. Every element was thoughtfully considered and crafted with patience.

For her second piece, she leaned even deeper into the beading process, focusing her energy and precision on each tiny detail—and it truly shows.

She also learned an important professional step: how to properly seal her artwork to protect it and preserve all of her hard work for years to come. 🎨

This is what we love to see at Art & Asanas—creativity, growth, and confidence building with every project. 💫

“Working between printmaking, woodworking, ceramics, painting, and drawing methods. Devin creates sculptural collages that reference ephemeral memories and craft traditions, creating a space where domestic spaces and the natural world intersect. Growing up in the forests of the Ramapo Mountains, Devin spent their time exploring creeks, dense forests, and hidden lakes, enamored by the stability that such a chaotic space provides. How we transform in these spaces, becoming quiet observers of something larger than ourselves. Ruins decomposing, reclaimed by the land, plants emerging through decomposing leaves, the smell of earth after rain, a metal fence being consumed by the base of a tree. Devin’s work seeks to explore these ephemeral moments where one feels so wholly connected to the world around them. Like the natural processes it explores, their work develops in a web, mimicking or repeating patterns from other pieces, everything interconnected. Similarly, Devin seeks out mediums that assert their own will onto a piece, how ceramics are transformed by heat, the natural grain of wood, how prints transform under the weight of a press bed, and free-flowing watercolor“
