On Friday, the Raptor Education Group, Inc. (REGI) joined Riverside Elementary to release a kestrel, a merlin, and a red-tailed hawk who were injured when a tornado struck the area in April. REGI spoke to the students about the birds' recovery and then the school celebrated as the birds were returned to the wild.

Three birds of prey released at school Friday, months after severe storms left them injured and destroyed their nests.
