It has been such a pleasure to teach piano here in Loudoun County for the past 3 years. I am incredibly grateful for all the students with whom I’ve had the privilege of sharing the beauty and wonder of music! This started as an internship in college and grew to 40 students very quickly. We’ve accomplished quite a bit in three years. I will miss my students dearly when I move to Georgia in a few weeks.

To all my students: I hope you keep playing and studying music! Music is so important to our education and the health of our brains. Playing music gives you a beautiful self expression tool that I hope you treasure throughout your life. It is a universal language that has the power to speak to our hearts.

Thank you for allowing your students to participate in the beautiful study of piano and thank you all for your support!

I am so excited to announce the end of year recital for Allen Piano Studio LLC!! My students have been working very hard this semester, so I am happy to invite all of you to a fun and music-filled evening at St. Episcopal's Church in Purcellville, Virginia 🎶🎹 So, come enjoy a wide variety of music ranging from Classical to show tunes, blues, and more!

Last three performance classes were a success! Everyone played beautifully, and I think we’re on track to have a super fun end of year concert on June 3!!

First two performance classes were a success at our new location!! So glad we were able to practice performing, share laughs, learn about Mozart, and eat yummy snacks together! 😊

As I was playing through some old Christmas music of mine tonight, I found this piece called Christmas Reminiscence by Philip Keveren. I started reflecting on this year with my studio. I would have never dreamed this studio would grow as fast and so dear to my heart as it has. This started as an internship during my Junior and Senior years in college, teaching about 15 students. Now it has grown to over 40 students all of whom I have deeply enjoyed sharing the beauty of music with. I will admit it has been overwhelming at times, and I know I am nowhere near perfect as a teacher, but this has become such a passion of mine and I am excited to grow with this studio. I am filled with so much joy and gratitude this Christmas season.

I am so proud of all of my students for their hard work. C. S. Lewis said in his Christian Reflections that musicians are privileged to “…honor God like angels, and for a few golden moments, to see spirit and flesh, delight and labor, skill and worship, the natural and the supernatural, all fused into that unity they would have had before the Fall.” Making music is unlike any other activity, so thank you to all the parents that make the effort to allow their children to learn the how to make beauty through melodies.
