👮🏼One of the best parts of being the SRO at Blandford Elementary School is getting to help connect our students with people who serve our community every day.

❗️Thank you to Georgia Department of Public Safety GSP Trooper Bowie & Trooper Farinha, Pooler Police Department Officer Weeks, Savannah Fire Department-FF A. Cahir, Bryan County Fire & Rescue-FF/AEMT J. Belanger, and Chatham County Fire Department-BC M. Cary and our very own Effingham County Sheriff's Office Patrol Sgt. West, K9 Unit Dep. Grovenstein, Court Division, Cpl Dailey, and APO Carroll, State Court Judge Calhoun, ECSO PIO Brian Dailey, and Effingham County EMS. 🚓 🚒 🚑👩‍⚖️🐾

🙌🏻 And to everyone else who came out to support these students — thank you for taking the time to invest in the next generation. Days like this make a lasting impact on these kids.

🚨 It’s Social Worker Appreciation Week, and I want to give a huge shoutout to the ones who walk into hard situations every single day and still choose compassion — especially one of Effingham County’s own, Ms. Brittany Worthen.

♥️ Social workers see the things most people never will. They step into chaos, trauma, broken homes, and crisis — not for recognition, not for praise, but because someone has to stand in the gap for kids and families who need it most.

🚔 As law enforcement, I can say firsthand… the job is easier when a good social worker is standing beside you. Different roles, same mission: protect the vulnerable and do what’s right, even when it’s hard.

🫂 Thank you for the long hours, the tough calls, the emotional weight, and the heart you bring to this work every day. You matter more than you know. 💙

‼️Morning Drop-Off – Let’s Talk About the “Do Not Enter” Sign 🚫

We have observed an increase in drivers using the bus ramp/employee entrance for student drop-off during morning hours.

After multiple recent near vehicle collisions 💥 and complaints, a quick reminder: the bus ramp/employee entrance is exactly what it says it is—for buses and employees. It is also clearly marked 🚫 DO NOT ENTER, which (just to clarify) is not a suggestion, a shortcut, or a “just this once” option.

Unauthorized use of this entrance creates traffic congestion, places 🚌 buses, staff, and students at risk, and interferes with school operations. While creativity is appreciated in many areas of life, traffic control is not one of them.

Unless you are an employee or have prior administrative approval, this entrance is prohibited. Ignoring posted traffic control signs is a traffic violation and will result in citations. 🚔

My goal is simple: get kids to school safely and get parents on their way to work—without turning morning drop-off into a contact sport. Please use the designated student drop-off route to ensure a safe and orderly morning arrival. ☀️

Feel free to contact me directly with any questions, comments, concerns—or complaints. I’m here to help.

Thank you for choosing safety over shortcuts.
