Showing off our fall pictures.

I ran across this on Facebook, and it reminded me of a lesson we had in children’s church recently. We were getting ready to discuss Joshua, but we needed to understand where Joshua came from.

So, we talked about Moses and how he led the Jews out of captivity from Egypt over to their promised land of Israel. Of course, we know it couldn’t be that simple. Why did they have to wander for 40 years? Were they lost? Was Moses really the worst navigator ever? Of course not! They were there because they had to be punished for their lack of faith. What were they doing during those 40 years? Just waiting on people to die. A whole generation had to die, so their children could carry on in faithfulness.

The most amazing part of this story though? In the 40 years they spent in the dessert, they never went hungry and their clothes never wore out. Isn’t amazing how God provides for us? But oh, the blessings we give up by not being in His will are so much more. The Jews never needed anything in the dessert, but they could have had so much more had they gone into Israel.

Just having fun in Sunday School!

We had a great group of kiddos in children’s church on Sunday. After showcasing all they learned in VBS in front ”big church, ” they came back and learned about another important person in the Bible - Joseph, ya’ know- the one with the coat?

Most of our kids are at camp, but the ones still in town were faithful and we had a great Wednesday night in Faith Explorers singing songs and playing games.
