🖤❤️💚 Celebrate Freedom. Honor History. Inspire the Future.
On Juneteenth, we commemorate June 19, 1865, the day enslaved African Americans in Galveston, Texas, learned of their freedom.
✨ Today, take a moment to learn, reflect, and celebrate the strength, courage, and contributions of those who paved the way.
đź’¬ How are you honoring Juneteenth this year? Share your thoughts, traditions, or community events in the comments.

We are incredibly grateful to the Effingham County High School Sources of Strength Club for their generous hygiene drive in support of our HELP Pantry. Because of their compassion and effort, we are able to continue providing essential items to individuals and families in our community who need them most. đź’™
A heartfelt thank you to every student who donated—your kindness truly makes a difference. This is what community looks like: showing up, giving back, and supporting one another in meaningful ways.
We also want to give a special thank you to club advisor Haley Reynolds for leading and encouraging these efforts. Your guidance is helping shape a stronger, more connected community.
Below is more about the Sources of Strength Club and the values they bring to both their school and our community:
"At ECHS, our Sources of Strength club is dedicated to building a culture of hope, connection, and resilience among our students, staff, and community. Sources of Strength is a strength-based, upstream mental health and su***de prevention program that focuses on empowering individuals to build protective factors and support one another through life’s challenges. By emphasizing hope, help, and strength, our club works to create a positive environment where everyone feels supported and connected.
Throughout the year, our students lead and participate in a variety of impactful initiatives—from su***de prevention awareness tabling and school-wide campaigns like ice bucket challenges, to organizing candy grams for Valentine’s Day and supporting staff through teacher appreciation efforts like babysitting during conferences. We also give back through food drives, assist annually with Teen Maze to help students navigate real-life challenges, and most recently, led our own hygiene drive to support a local pantry.
These efforts reflect our commitment to turning hope into action and making a positive difference both inside and outside our school. We are proud of our students for continuing to build a supportive, connected community."
