Tonight is BACK TO SCHOOL NIGHT from 5-7 p.m. Login to PowerSchool to see your teachers name and also check to make sure your bus information looks right.

When you meet your teacher tonight, make sure they know where your students will be going after school - bus or pick up.

Reminder that ALL Hailey Creek neighborhood students will meet on the grass at the west end of the building. From there, parents can pick them up (we have loads of parking in the overflow parking area), or they can walk/bike home.

There’s a little change to the pick up routine this year with Hailey creek being a “walking” zone now. We know that some parents will still want to pick those kids up rather than have them walk (Or ride their bikes) - which is totally fine. But, to alleviate any additional congestion in the parking lot, we will have those students picked up from the west end with all the other students.

Those students will be separated and a duty person will verify they are indeed a “walking” student, walk them across a crosswalk to the grassy area where they will walk home on the path that leads directly to Lilah Street. You can meet your student there or anywhere along the walking path marked in yellow. You can also park in the southwest lot next to the pathway or on Lilah street.

This option is ONLY for those students in Hailey Creek. All other students will be in the drive through line. We will still have the front door option but that space is limited and you must discuss it with the office before you will allowed to take advantage of it.

Remember, your students name must be on the pick up list as well as any authorized contacts or they will be placed on their assigned bus.

Kindergarteners will be receiving an email from their teachers when they get back next week with information about the first week of school. You can also see the information if you scroll down in our feed.

All other students - your teacher name is listed in PowerSchool.

Our last new teacher this year is Mrs. Monson. She is replacing Mrs. Nez, our resource teacher who moved to Utah this summer. She is absolutely lovely and we so thrilled she has joined our South Fork team!

"I'm Magei Monson, and I'm so excited to join the special education team at South Fork! I just graduated from Utah State, and I'm currently working towards my Master's of Special Education. When I'm not focused on school, I love to travel, hike, and read. I can't wait for this amazing school year!"

Chen Laoshi will be teaching 3rd grade Chinese this year! She's absolutely adorable and you are going to love her!

"Hi South Fork family! I’m so excited to join the team as a 3rd Grade Chinese Immersion teacher! I’m originally from Sichuan, China—the home of giant pandas! I just graduated this past May with my Master’s in Education from the University of Maryland. Outside of the classroom, I love photography and cooking. I can’t wait to meet all of our amazing students and families this year!"

We would like to introduce our new teachers! First up is Wu Laoshi. He will be teaching 1st grade Chinese. He might just give Mr. Chiu a run for his money on who is the most energetic and bubbly!

I’m Hao, students can call me Wu Laoshi, and I’m so excited to join the team this year. I’m originally from Chengde, China — just a short trip from Beijing. I have over two years of experience teaching Chinese, and I can’t wait to bring that passion into the classroom. Outside of school, I love traveling and trying new foods with my family and friends. I’m one of six in my family, including a younger sister who’s currently in high school. Looking forward to meeting you all! 😊
