We need YOUR creativity to make this year’s Family Engagement Committee's Trunk or Treat a success!

Decorate a trunk, set up a booth, hand out treats, or host a fun activity. Grab your friends, pick a theme, and help create a memorable Halloween for our kids and community!

HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS: Show off your creativity for a chance to WIN A GIFT CERTIFICATE for the best-decorated trunk or booth!

Celebrating 22 Years of Dedication: Thank You, Kathy!

After 22 years of substitute teaching in Ouray County, Kathy Heinrichs has become a familiar and much-loved part of our Ridgway Schools and community. Her very first subbing job was with a fourth-grade class at RES, making it especially fitting to come full circle.

We are so grateful for all the years Kathy has spent supporting our students and staff. She will be greatly missed, and we wish her all the best in what comes next.

Log Hill Hustle: Going the Extra Mile for Student Scholarships!

SHOUT OUT to all of our staff, students, coaches, UnBOCES partners, parents, and School Board members who showed up the day before school to raise funds for student scholarships! What an incredible way to support our students and kick off the school year.

A special thank you to the Fortuna Tierra Club for hosting and supporting this wonderful community event. We are grateful for your commitment to bringing our community together and helping create opportunities for our students.

We’re proud to celebrate these standout accomplishments:
• Orion took home wins in both the Mt. Sneffels and Log Hill Hustle this year!
• Congratulations to Lindsay H., our unBOCES OT, for winning the women’s 5K!
• Cross country student-athletes Bryce and Wren won the 10–14 age division in the 10K, while Bailey won the 15–19 division in the 5K.
• Maddie won the 10–14 5K division, and our young runners Anil and Hazel won the 9 & Under 5K division.
• Our new teachers, Jenny B. and Kelly T-W, each won their 10K age divisions, and Board President Aimee won her 5K age division as well!

Happy First Day of School!

The 2026–27 school year is officially here! We’re thrilled to welcome our students, families, teachers and staff back for a year filled with learning, growth, connection, and plenty of reasons to celebrate.

From Ridgway Elementary to Ridgway Secondary, here’s to new experiences, new friendships, big goals, and an incredible year ahead.
