¡Seguimos celebrando!

As MFLA continues our celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, we are proud to spotlight MFLA Board Member Dr. Alejandro Pérez!

Originally from Spain, Alejandro brings his passion for language, culture, and education to his work at the University of Maryland, College Park, where he prepares and supports the next generation of world language educators.

From Spanish and dual language teacher to instructional coach and teacher educator, Alejandro’s journey reminds us of the many ways language educators make an impact; on their students, their colleagues, and their communities.

¡Gracias, Dr. Alejandro Pérez, for your dedication to our profession, our multilingual communities, and MFLA! ❤️💛🖤

Celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month with MFLA!

Throughout Hispanic Heritage Month, MFLA is proud to spotlight members of our Board whose identities, experiences, and commitment to language and culture enrich our organization and the communities they serve.

Today, we celebrate Nyurka Morales, MFLA Social Events Chair! A proud Puerto Rican educator and school leader, Nyurka reminds us that language is so much more than words, it carries our history, culture, identity, and corazón. ❤️

Thank you, Nyurka, for bringing your passion, leadership, and Boricua pride to MFLA and for reminding us of the power educators have to help students see their language and culture as strengths.

¡Gracias por todo lo que haces, Nikki!
