Action Firearms Training
Founded in 2012 by Brad Harbour, Action Firearms Training is a company that trains the average citizen in safety and being prepared for an encounter. Our mission statement is “live to fight another day.” Our goal is to educate and train gun owners so they can live to fight another day. We want to give people the tools not only to know how to properly shoot, but to

also have the mental preparedness for a lethal encounter. A responsible armed citizen is educated, trained, and equipped. Action Firearms provides the education and training to equip you for an encounter. Courses
Enhanced Certification Course
$120, Two-night course, 4 hours in classroom, 4 hours on the range
This course is about safe gun handling and preparing your mind for a confrontation. After this course you will have a clear understanding of gun safety, fundamentals of using your weapon, and will be mentally prepared to survive a hostile encounter. Students do not have to have their concealed carry permit to attend this class. We will go over what you need to do to obtain a concealed carry permit in the state of Mississippi and what you will need to do to have that permit enhanced. Upon completion of this course you will have an enhanced certification which allows permit holders to carry concealed in more places than a concealed carry permit alone allows. The first night we will meet in a classroom setting where you will learn about Mississippi concealed carry laws, how to properly hold your firearm, and other fundamental skills you will need to survive a hostile encounter. Textbooks are included in the tuition fee. Students will need to bring their gun(s) and a snack should they so desire. The second night class will be held at an outdoor range where students will qualify on an NRA approved concealed carry course. Students will need to bring hearing and eye protection, at least 150 rounds of ammunition, and their weapon. Basic Ladies Handgun Course
$200, Two-night course, 4 hours in classroom, 4 hours on the range
A basic class designed for ladies only. This class provides hands on instruction to a small class of women. This is the perfect class for women who have never used a firearm. We provide a range of handguns for ladies to practice with, as well as all of the ammunition. Our expert instructors take a one-on-one approach to helping each lady find the gun that suits her best. At the end of this course, each lady will know how to properly handle a gun. She will be comfortable loading, unloading, carrying and shooting a firearm. When the lady leaves this course not only does she have her enhancement for her concealed carry permit, but she also has a good idea of what type of gun fits her before she goes to purchases one. The first night of class is held in a classroom. Textbooks and all material are included in the tuition fee. Ladies are encouraged to bring a snack if they so desire. The second night of class is held at an outdoor range. Ladies are asked to bring hearing and eye protection. Advanced Shooting Class – Level 1
$150, Two-night course, 8 hours on the range
This advanced course covers draw techniques, speed loading and reloading, emergency reloads, malfunctions, and weapon retention (being able to keep someone from taking your gun and using it against you). Students will also compete against each other for the coveted “Top Shooter” award. Participants will learn how to become a moving target while shooting their target with precision and accuracy. At the end of this course, you will be able to quickly draw, reload, recognize and handle malfunctions, hit your target with the first round, and retain your weapon all while on the move. Students should bring their hearing and eye protection, their weapon, and at least 250 rounds of ammunition. Tactical Long Gun Course
$150, Two-night course, 8 hours on the range
This is a refined course for owners of an AR-15, sporting rifle, and/or shot gun. Participants leave with in depth training and knowledge of in-home defense techniques. This includes tactical loading and unloading, transferring from long gun to handgun, and malfunction drills while on the move. Students should bring their hearing and eye protection, their weapon, and at least 100 rounds of long gun ammunition, and 100 rounds of pistol ammunition. Private Instruction
Price based on how many participants and other factors. Private instruction is offered for companies and individuals. Some people don’t want to take a class with other people for several reasons (maybe they’re famous and don’t want to be recognized). We can accommodate. Open Range
$25 per session
If you’ve taken any of our courses, you are invited to practice with us during any of our open range sessions. These are perfect opportunities to hone the skills you’ve learned in class. Certified instructors will be on site to assist with any problems or questions. 15 spots available, must register to attend. Bring your own weapon and ammo. You know the drill. Bring four friends and your tuition for ANY of these courses is FREE.
2. Courses are discounted 50% for all active military members (with current ID).

Ok so Law Enforcement Agency’s and or Courts will not call you and ask for payment over the phone for a warrant. Certainly won’t ask you to go get gift cards to pay it. If you get a call and they use my name please ask them to meet you at the court for a face to face payment and let me know the time so I can be there to lock their butts up. Don’t fall for SCAMS.

Class will be held across two nights with the first night at the Ridgeland Municipal Court Building. Both nights plan for 6pm-10pm. This class meets the requirements for the MS Enhanced Permit.

I was sitting at an intersection recently when the car in front of me very nonchalantly tossed an empty bottle out of their car into the street. I was struck by how brazen their littering was, and deep in my soul felt the urge to "say something". Then I remembered, that oh yeah, I have a gun, and what am I going to do if my chastising of this person causes them to get violent?

The need to get involved when we see some wrong being committed is a feeling I'm sure we have all experienced. As we discuss in our class though, uses of defensive force don't often get looked at by prosecutors as a singular event. Meaning, while you may have been justified in the flash of the moment you pulled the trigger, they are going to look at what you did leading up to and immediately after that event. Who started it is an important question, and if you inject yourself into situations you could be construed as the instigator.

In 2018 a Florida man approached a female who had parked in a handicapped parking space with no handicap placard. He began to argue with her, when her boyfriend inside the store saw what was going on, and came out and pushed the man down. The man drew a concealed firearm and shot and killed the boyfriend. In this particular case, a jury found that the man was the instigator of the incident and was not legitimately in fear for his life. They found him guilty of manslaughter and he was sentenced to 20 years in prison.

The moral of the story is that as gun carriers we have a greater responsibility to society to be above petty arguments and actively avoid situations that could escalate in to use of force incidents. You win every gunfight you avoid!

We had a great time with this group of ladies this weekend. Thank ya'll for enduring the heat with us!

This was our Basic Pistol class where we focus purely on the basics of understanding how handguns work, how to handle them safely and how to shoot them competently and confidently. This class does not result in an enhanced carry certificate. Basic Pistol is a great class for someone who is newer to guns and wants a solid set of fundamentals before venturing off into further training . We cover a number of topics in this class that just aren't possible due to time constraints in an enhanced carry. If your plan is to ultimately get an enhanced carry we offer a special rate to alumni of this class to get the remaining required information and earn your enhanced certificate. All fi****ms and ammunition are provided as part of the class cost for this one. Keep an eye on the schedule, or contact us if you have a group that you think would be interested.
