If you've driven by Thomas Heyward Academy lately, you've probably noticed — our campus is looking better than ever! ❤️🩶

Special shoutout to our new groundskeeper, Trey Hair, who has made an incredible difference in just a few short months. Trey has poured his time, hard work and pride into caring for our school grounds — and it's truly been a family effort! Trey, Ally, Hayden, Hailey and Hope have all pitched in, showing what the THA community is all about.

Although this is a part-time role for Trey, his pride and dedication are anything but part-time. As we welcome everyone back to campus, take a look around — it's amazing what we can accomplish when our THA community comes together.

As Thomas Heyward Academy continues to grow, we're excited to expand our K4 program by adding a second K4 classroom to better serve our youngest learners. This exciting addition allows us to provide even more individualized attention and create an exceptional early learning experience for our students.

Please join us in congratulating Mrs. Stephanie Sottile as she steps into her new role as one of our K4 teachers!

Mrs. Sottile has already become a familiar face to many of our families through her service as a K4 aide, her work with Gateway, and her involvement with Rebel Summertime. Her passion for children, dedication to supporting families, and enthusiasm for early childhood education make her a wonderful fit for this new role.

We are thrilled to continue growing our Lower School team and know Mrs. Sottile will make a lasting impact on our youngest Rebels.

📚 South Carolina Tax Free Weekend is August 7–9!

Back-to-school shopping just got a little easier! This weekend is the perfect time to stock up on eligible school supplies and other qualifying items without paying South Carolina sales tax.

We hope everyone has a fun, safe, and successful shopping weekend as you get ready for the start of another great year at Thomas Heyward Academy!

🍎 Please join us in congratulating Mrs. Anna-Lee Cooke as she begins an exciting new chapter at Thomas Heyward Academy as our new K5 Teacher!

Mrs. Cooke has already made a positive impact on our Lower School through her work in the K3 classroom and as a Kindergarten aide. Now, she is stepping into her very own classroom, where she will continue inspiring, encouraging, and nurturing our youngest Rebels.

Currently pursuing her Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education at Grand Canyon University, Anna-Lee is passionate about helping children build confidence, develop a love for learning, and grow both academically and socially. Her enthusiasm for early childhood education and commitment to creating a positive classroom environment make her a wonderful addition to our K5 team.

We are excited to watch her thrive in this new role and can't wait to see the impact she will have on our K5 students and families!

🎨 Rebel Summertime enjoyed a fun local field trip to Terrapin Studios in downtown Ridgeland! Our students painted their own pottery and learned how clay pieces are fired.

Afterward, we wrapped up the day with lunch and sweet treats at Dairy Queen! 🍦

We love learning, creating, and making summertime memories together!
