Today was a BIG day for our OTA family!
We welcomed our Level 1 students on their very first day in the Occupational Therapy Assistant program! 🎉 We are so excited to watch you learn, grow, build confidence, and discover all that the OTA profession has to offer.

This summer, our OTA students showcased their creativity, problem-solving, and clinical reasoning skills in Therapeutic Media class! Using low-cost and recycled materials, students designed and fabricated meaningful therapeutic activities and adaptive devices while exploring how creative occupations can support participation, independence, and well-being. Each creation reflected the students’ growing ability to connect purposeful activity with client-centered care.

Getting hands-on with clay is so much more than an art project! 🤲✨ The OTA students explored pottery as a powerful therapeutic media. From improving fine motor skills to promoting mindfulness and emotional regulation, the healing power of occupation-based activities is amazing to witness. 🏺🧠 These students learning how to adapt these activities for our future clients is what being an OTA is all about! 🧡 Thank you to for hosting our class and teaching us all the different ways to integrate this media! This fun and creative activity highlighted the therapeutic benefits of sensory-based interventions while allowing students to explore the use of meaningful occupations in promoting relaxation, stress management, and overall well-being! 🛁
