Holmes OTA Program

Getting hands-on with clay is so much more than an art project! 🤲✨ The OTA students explored pottery as a powerful therapeutic media. From improving fine motor skills to promoting mindfulness and emotional regulation, the healing power of occupation-based activities is amazing to witness. 🏺🧠 These students learning how to adapt these activities for our future clients is what being an OTA is all about! 🧡 Thank you to for hosting our class and teaching us all the different ways to integrate this media! Who doesn’t love a good craft session?!

Today, our OTA students got hands-on in Therapeutic Media class as they created their own bath salts! This fun and creative activity highlighted the therapeutic benefits of sensory-based interventions while allowing students to explore the use of meaningful occupations in promoting relaxation, stress management, and overall well-being! 🛁

Spent the day doing what we love—learning, growing, and giving back! Learning that healing doesn’t always happen in a clinic, it can happen in a barn too. As OTA students, volunteering at Horses for Handicapped was such a meaningful experience. Seeing the impact of therapeutic riding and the joy it brings, reminded us exactly why we chose this field. We are so grateful for every opportunity to make a difference! 🐎💙

It takes a village! 💛 We are very appreciative of all the support in our baby drive with Canopy Children’s Solutions. The OTA program was able to collect new baby items to support local families in our community. Thank you for assisting with making sure every baby has what they need to thrive!

The OTA program will be hosting a baby items drive for Canopy Children’s Solutions to provide needed items for the children and families of MS who are supported through their organization! We would love for anyone interested to donate items! Feel free to reach out if you have questions!
