Looking back at some garden-grown fun at Farmingville Elementary!

Students planted herbs and veggies commonly found in pizza sauces and toppings, then colored their own personal pizzas to “grow” alongside the garden. The hope was to eventually share some of the fresh harvest with the cafeteria so students could sample what they helped grow!

Throughout the summer, Farmingville families also helped keep the garden thriving by “adopting” it for a week to water and weed—and enjoyed bringing home some herbs, veggies, and flowers as a thank-you for their help.

Earlier this year, RHS held the 15th Annual Science Research Symposium in the Library Learning Commons. The Science Research Program at RHS is a multi-year program that encourages students to explore original research.

Dr. Goudarz Molaei from the Connecticut Agricultural Experiment Station gave the keynote address, speaking directly to students with encouragement and urgency. "The world needs you!"

This past year, RPS introduced a new approach to supporting Academically and Intellectually Gifted (AIG) students with dedicated AIG teacher Kat Savvaides. 🌟

In her new role, Ms. Savvaides spends a day at each elementary school on a six-day rotation, working with individual students and in groupings to provide enrichment based on student needs, as determined by a team of educators. She also collaborates with teachers on differentiated instruction and materials.

A new chapter in Ridgefield history began today! 🎉

Ridgefield Public Schools celebrated the ribbon cutting of the new Prospect Ridge Campus, now home to the Alternative High School (AHS) and the Ridgefield Transition Program (RTP).

This historic occasion marks the culmination of a multi-year partnership between the Town of Ridgefield and Ridgefield Public Schools to establish a dedicated, permanent space for these vital programs just in time for the upcoming school year.
