This past year I watched how much the kids loved making art while they moved—and realized we needed more of that.

More rolling.
More spinning.
More swinging.
More dropping.
More racing.
More building.
More art that moves because they move!

So we’re expanding what we do and bringing even more kinetic art into the studio—art kids can move, test, change + play with.

Our new Ridgefield studio will be the first to get some new pieces to push this concept even further, with the size of the new studio it’s giving us a little more wiggle room to let our kids and their projects wiggle :)

Somewhere along the way Pop Art! kids starts to feel a little like home. A home where you’re allowed to get away with just a little bit more, a place where you can relax… and your little one can do what they do best: play.

Maybe that’s my favorite part.

Because it was never just about the art.

It’s about growing up together in a studio I hope they’ll refer to as their happy place!

That’s why I created Pop Art! Invent—our Friday after-school drop-in workshop for curious creators k - 5th grade.

Every week is different, but one of my favorite workshops is Invention Lab, where kids are handed cardboard, recycled materials, hot glue guns, and one simple challenge:

Build something.

No templates. No rules. Just imagination, creativity, and the freedom to invent.

As a mom of three, I know the back-and-forth we all feel when it’s time to sign up for fall activities.

No one wants to overschedule their kids.

But I’ve also learned that not every activity fills the same need.

At Pop Art! Kids, children aren’t focused on being the best or keeping score. They get to slow down, make a mess, move their bodies, create something they’re proud of, and just be kids.

Especially during the busy back-to-school season, that weekly creative outlet can make such a difference for my own kids.

That’s why I don’t think of Pop Art! as “just another activity.”

I think of it as one they’ll truly need.

Fall registration is live and classes are filled or nearly full, if you’re considering an activity for your toddler through tween but worried what activities to choose, I promise you this is the one you both need in your lives this September 💙

Art shouldn’t have to sit still.

I’ve taken the beginning of summer break to reflect on the year at Pop Art! Kids. The art we create comes alive through movement, it’s played with, spun and swung, and this is the direction I want to push us in further.

Pop Art! Kids is becoming the WORLDS (I mean, don’t completely quote me on this, but we might possibly, maybe kind of sort of could be?) first sensory + kinetic children’s art studio.

Please don’t hate me for talking about fall in June 😬 but, for all our planners, registration goes live tomorrow for our fall session 1! 8am, head to www.popart.kids and find the perfect program for your little artist! 🩵 I’ll be leading the Wednesday morning playgroups in Ridgefield filling in for Ms Casey on maternity leave, and I already can’t wait to meet some new artists and see some returning friends!!
