The Greg Olsen Archive Room

It is with heavy hearts to write this final Facebook post, to announce that as of May 5, 2026 the Greg Olsen Local History Room is once again permanently closed.

Lynn and Megan personally took the time to resign this morning. (if by any chance you hear another version, please note that We Resigned ourselves is the TRUTH.)

If you want to know how and why we came to this decision, please take the time to watch our last You Tube video. We will be keeping our channel up and running so we can continue to share the work we already accomplished within 14 months.

If anyone has opinions or concerns about this closure, we are open to receive emails. You can also attend the Ridgefield Park Public Library Board of Trustees meeting on May 27, 2026 at 7pm at the Library's meeting room, as they are open to the public.

Thank you to all that came out to support the Greg Olsen Local History Room, whether it was attending our talks, visiting the room, or making a contribution either monetary or donated a cherished Ridgefield Park memorabilia.

Architecture is also an art form. Did you ever notice these arched windows upstairs at the Ridgefield Park Public Library?

They are the original windows of the People's Congregational Church. The section upstairs, with the fire place was the original church before it became the public library in the late 1920s.

If you ever stopped into the Greg Olsen Local History Room, you might have spotted this straw hat on the wall over our mannequin.

Thanks to a recent donation of photos we can now date the hat back to the early/mid 1970s. Pictured are RPHS students attending a game (football?) at Veteran's Park.

The Greg Olsen Local History Room, reopened July of 2025 and still is open 2 days a week. Tuesdays and Saturdays. The room's purpose is to teach people about the history of Ridgefield Park, New Jersey! But we do offer a lot of other services too!
