Love, Risk, Joy, Engagement, Reflection
Risk: The experience of doing something with uncertain outcomes based on a prediction. Risk is the basis of inquiry, learning, discovery, and the scientific method.
When we take the risk of being present while observing and not intervening based on our fears and assumptions, we provide space for agency, discovery and ultimately joy. When we witness a child’s ability we experience the joy of their accomplishment, and communicate our trust and understanding to the child. A virtuous cycle the strengthens authentic relationships, and makes us more knowledgeable about children, their needs, and abilities.
