August 14, 1765, Boston's Sons of Liberty gathered beneath a great elm tree to protest the Stamp Act, Britain's first direct tax on the American colonies. They hung an effigy of the local stamp tax collector from its branches, and that elm soon earned a new name: the Liberty Tree.

It became a rallying point for Patriots in the years that followed, a living symbol that resistance to ""taxation without representation"" could take root and grow.

Eleven years before independence was declared, the seeds of revolution were already being planted.

🇺🇸 Most Americans have heard of the Minutemen. But few could explain the difference between a Minuteman, a militia member, a Continental soldier, and a privateer.

🧥 🧥 🧥 The colonies didn't have a standing national army when the conflict began. Instead, they relied on a network of local militias - ordinary citizens who could be called to defend their communities.

🕰 Among them were the Minutemen, specially trained militia members expected to be ready to mobilize at a minute's notice. When the first shots were fired at Lexington and Concord in April 1775, many of these men answered the call.

⭐ ⭐ ⭐ As the war expanded, the colonies realized local militias alone could not defeat the world's most powerful military. The Continental Congress created the Continental Army and placed George Washington in command, transforming a collection of regional forces into a unified fighting force.

👑 Across the battlefield stood the British Regulars often called "Redcoats" - professional soldiers with years of training, discipline, and experience.

But the struggle wasn't fought only on land.

⚓ American privateers, operating under government authorization, used privately owned ships to capture British merchant vessels. They disrupted British trade, seized valuable supplies, and helped offset Britain's overwhelming naval advantage.

The American Revolution wasn't won by a single army or a single battle. It was fought by citizen-soldiers, professional troops, local militias, a continental army, and even privately owned ships working toward a common cause. 🇺🇸

Unfortunately, our office recently experienced a little flooding, and several of our storage boxes were damaged by water. We use these 8-ream copy paper boxes to organize and store care package supplies, and many of the ones we rely on are no longer usable.

We're hoping our amazing supporters might be able to help us replace them!

Our current need: Approximately 50 - 8-ream copy paper boxes (like the one pictured).

If your workplace, business, school, or organization goes through these boxes, we'd be incredibly grateful if you could save them for Military Missions instead of recycling them.
