Quentin Southall, '24, has a diverse portfolio, and we aren't just talking about his art. The University of Richmond's Robins School of Business finance major is also a small business owner of Q's Custom Sneakers, and a guard for the Richmond Spiders Men's Basketball.

We went behind the scenes with Quentin during filming for our most recent β€œWhat Could You Do at Richmond?” commercial to share more of his unique story.

To see the final commercial with Quentin and two other Spiders, check out our University of Richmond YouTube channel (and subscribe to keep up with UR!). β€οΈπŸ’™πŸ•·οΈ

No matter how you celebrate or spell (C)Hanu(k)ka(h), whether you join us on campus for tonight’s candle lighting or stand with us in spirit from afar, we wish all of our Spiders a Hanukkah filled with light, love, and joy!

For the next eight nights, may we all increase holiness, may we tend to our inner sparks, and may we dedicate ourselves to seeing and revealing the light in others regardless of how dark things may appear. Because miracles aren’t just an ancient thing, they continue to surround us every moment of every day. πŸ’™πŸ•ŽπŸ•·οΈ

A study in catastrophe 11/22/2023

60 years ago, the usual Friday afternoon television programming was interrupted to announce there had been an assassination attempt on President John F. Kennedy.

Local stations scrambled to get the feed on air, then went still as the story grew graver. And inside Richmond’s CBS affiliate, WTVR, two Spiders were among the staff.

A study in catastrophe Sixty years later, two alumni reflect on their memories of the Kennedy assassination β€” as seen from Richmond’s CBS newsroom.
