So excited that our upcoming 14th Annual Israeli & Jewish Film Festival is included in today's River City Roundup by Richmond magazine of the best things to see, do and experience this week!

We would like to extend our greatest gratitude to our community partners. The meaningful work on this year's film festival, would not be possible without the help of Chabad Of Virginia, Congregation Beth Ahabah, Congregation Or Atid, Congregation Or Ami, Hadassah Richmond, Jewish Community Federation of Richmond, Jewish Life at VCU, Keneseth Beth Israel-Richmond VA, Temple Beth-El, University of Richmond Hillel and Virginia Holocaust Museum.

An extra special thanks to the Horwitz Family for sponsoring the event. Your support plays a vital role in encouraging Jewish and Israeli artistic through a broad spectrum of thought and opinion.

Lastly, a big thanks to this year's co presenters Virginia Museum of History & Culture, and Virginia Museum of Fine Arts. Through you, we've been able to reach beyond the Jewish community and provide educational, social and cultural experiences that are relevant to others in the Richmond community.

Festival runs from January 19-29. Get tickets at weinsteinjcc.org/programs/arts-and-ideas/14th-annual-israeli-international-jewish-film-festival/
This evening, we lit the hanukkiah in celebration of the second night of Hanukkah. Thank you to the Jewish Community Federation of Richmond and Congregation Beth Ahabah for leading our ceremony, and sharing an inspiring message on the importance of this holiday.

May we all usher light into the lives of others and the great City of Richmond. Happy Hanukkah!
Due to the passing of our Executive Director's wife, Michele Asher, the Museum will be closed on November 29th out of respect for Michele and the entire Asher family. We will reopen as usual on Wednesday, November 30th.

A Memorial Service will be held in the Sanctuary at Congregation Beth Ahabah on Tuesday, November 29th at 11 a.m.

This day will keep inspiring each one of us to always stand with the victims and make this world a better place to live.

Join us for a limited run of Jewish Family Theatre’s The Last Cyclist.

Directed by Debra Clinton with musical accompaniment by Natan Berenshteyn, The Last Cyclist brings to light the dangers of totalitarianism, herd-like behavior, and the frightening extremes to which bullying can lead.

This show commemorates Israel’s Holocaust Remembrance Day (Yom HaShoah). Following the performance will be a talk back with writer, and producer Naomi Patz.

There are additional performances at Virginia Holocaust Museum on 4/28, and Congregation Beth Ahabah on 5/1.

And the beat goes on!

Last night’s Community Drumming Shabbat & Dinner Featuring Path To Rhythm was a hit! Over 100 guests of all ages and faiths joined together for food, community, and music.

Rabbi Scott Nagel, from Congregation Beth Ahabah, led a beautiful "mock" Shabbat. And our very own Dawn Kowal carried the group in song. Path to Rhythm facilitated two fun and interactive drumming sessions.

A big thanks to Kenny Bendheim for a fantastic meal. His delicious kosher food made our event special.

Finally, a huge thank you to our hotel sponsor, The Westin Richmond.

Everyone had a great time! Looking forward to seeing you again soon!

Dominic Bourne is working to collect school and art supplies for pop-up shelters in Juarez as his Bar Mitzvah project. Please consider just buying a book or box of paints for these kids who literally have nothing, it would change their world. When you order off Amazon, it will be sent to a house in El Paso and driven over the border. The group he is partnering with is Seguimos Adelante and they are incredible!
