✨🏅We got to see some wonderful final performances, one very cute blooper (drums are absolutely gonna fall sometimes!), and of course, the Macarena, from the talented young people at our Feel Good Beats program at St. Andrew's School led by teaching artists Kaitlynn Davis and John Gammon.🏅✨

Across 12 weeks, participants learned Caribbean dance with a focus on mindfulness. The program explored movement as a tool to manage moods, articulate emotions, and work collaboratively with their peers.

We’re a bit teary-eyed to see so many joyful programs ending as our year wraps-up, but that just means a new program session is around the corner in 2022!
Warmer days in December are perfect for these St. Andrew's School students to read outside…
We recently had the opportunity to visit St. Andrew's School and learn more about the music program RRPC contributes to during our Carols and Keyboards event! You can watch the video below as well as donate using the link below and selecting "Online-St. Andrew's School".

Dear Saint Andrews
(I am not sure if posting here is allowed, if not I do apologize and don’t mind it being taken down.)

Hi, my name is Jin-sub Sim, born in 1984, from South Korea, currently living in Hanoi, Vietnam.
From 1991-1993, my family and I had the opportunity to live in the U.S for about two and half years. During that time, we stayed in Richmond Virginia for about 4 months (I think it was 1992) and I attended Saint Andrews.

The reason I am writing this letter is that I want to thank my homeroom teacher at that time.
It would be great if I could contact her in person but shamefully, I do not remember her name or any other information. All I have left are these old pictures.

Although my time in Saint Andrews was very short, my memories of her never faded away. I was the only Asian kid in class and she did everything to make me feel welcome and at home. She was a generous, warm, caring, and loving person. I still remember the activities she arranged in class just for me. She made me feel confident and special.
Moreover, all my classmates were so warm-hearted. Although I was very different and my English was bad I was never bullied or teased but was helped and encouraged. Unfortunately, I do not remember any of their names but I am forever grateful to be in that class.

I know it is highly possible that she does not remember me because it was such a long time ago and my time there was very short. However, I would still like to let her know that her former student from the other part of the world deeply thanks her from the deepest bottom of his heart. I am aware that she might not be around considering her age and other factors, but I will never forget her.
I moved schools more than 15 times before entering college and she was the BEST teacher I ever had and Saint Andrews was the BEST school I ever attended.
Thank you, Saint Andrews.

Yours Sincerely
Jin-Sub Sim

When sisters Janiya and Janaye graduated from St. Andrew's in 2017, they left feeling like St. Andrew's was their "little family."

When you become a student at St. Andrew's, your whole family is welcomed into the community.

And that doesn't end with graduation...

Janiya says that “St. Andrew’s put me on a path to be a better student.”

Both Janiya and Janaye are attending high school at Cristo Rey and both aspire to become nurses.

When you give to St. Andrew's, you're supporting our students NOW, for THEIR future. Will you give today? https://tinyurl.com/399bedyz

Fifth graders had so much (delicious) fun decorating holiday cookies in their classroom! They loved showing off their creativity through the artistic medium of cookie and icing.

Recently, the fifth graders gave PowerPoint presentations on various countries. They researched for four weeks to ensure that they were knowledgable on each country. Additionally, they each brought in a visual aid which consisted of food, posters, and flags to represent each country!

Have you heard about our Graduate Support? Zakia is a fifth grader at St. Andrew's, and after graduating, has her sights set on attending St. Catherine's. But Zakia was nervous about speaking on camera for the video of herself required for her middle school application.

That's where our Director of Admissions and Graduate Support, Linwood Johnson, steps in. He met Zakia where she was, and walked her through the filming and interview process.
Interview preparation is just one aspect of a robust and enriching Graduate Support program at St. Andrew's. In the end, Zakia felt confident in her interview. Three words she used to describe herself?

"Creative. Smart. Confident."

She said if accepted at St. Catherine's, she would be excited about "meeting new teachers and adapting to a new environment."

When you give to St. Andrew's, you're supporting Graduate Support, that equips our students to thrive. Donate TODAY at https://tinyurl.com/399bedyz to support this essential program!

What’s the buzz at St. Andrew’s School?!? Bee-Bots! That’s right. Bee robots.

Did you know that all St. Andrew’s students learn to code just like programmers? Coding is an essential 21st century skills that all students should have access to.

Our students learn to write code, which is a set of directions that a computer or in this case, a Bee-Bot, follows.

Students experimented with programming a Bee-Bot to find shops on the map of a town and turned them into snowplows!
