Saint Gertrude, an independent Catholic, college-preparatory high school, prepares and inspires young women to answer the challenges of their changing world.

In 2020, we unified with Benedictine College Prep under the Benedictine Schools of Richmond.

High school basketball: Saint Gertrude shows heart, hustle in loss to STAB 02/08/2024

"'You always have to do the little things,' said Fulkerson, a 5-7 junior guard and the lone returning starter. 'If you make a shot, that’s great, but if you miss the shot and get your rebound, that’s even better because it shows you’re working. Hard work beats talent, so you have to keep working.'"

“Of the Benedictine values, the one that means the most to me is prayer! Being a senior chaplain allowed me to mature and get out of my comfort zone.
Taking this important role has also taught me even more to value God, my friends, my family, and those around me. Because of this opportunity, I was able to grow stronger in prayer and build my relationship with God and those around me.

It’s the 50th annual National Catholic Schools Week, and we are honored to celebrate with our brothers and sisters at 5,200 Catholic grade schools across the United States! 📚 🌎

We reflect with gratitude on how blessed we are to be a part of educating the 1.3 million students currently receiving a Catholic education.

This week we pray for the dedicated faculty and staff who foster the exceptional learning environment at Saint Gertrude, working tirelessly to sustain our school, for the students who make us so unique and for the alumnae who fuel the future generations, and especially for our parents, who have prayed and sacrificed to ensure a Catholic education for their children. 🙏 ⛪️

Happy National Catholic Schools Week!

Join us on February 7 for the annual Parater Day of Giving at the Benedictine Schools of Richmond!

Though the day is jam-packed with engaging initiatives, fun activities and plenty of digital entertainment, our focus is on funding our Frank J. Parater scholarships, which make a Benedictine Schools of Richmond education possible for over 100 of our middle-class Catholic students.

As we come together for this important cause, we pray for the intercession of Servant of God, Frank J. Parater, an inspiring alumnus of Benedictine and Belmont Abbey and a seminarian of the Diocese of Richmond. While studying in Rome, Frank Parater contracted rheumatic fever and passed away at the heart-breaking age of 22 on February 7, 1920.

In 2001, Frank Parater’s cause for canonization, the process of becoming a saint, was granted. We invite you to join us in honoring his legacy making Catholic education more accessible to our community.

Check out to travel back in time and see what this day is all about!
