This morning, we were delighted to see our seniors once again es**rt their kindergarten buddies across St. Christopher's Road to the All-School Opening Service on the Terraces. Parents, faculty, and students from every division took part in the ceremony, which celebrates the new year as one community. Upper School Student Council President Michael Sleeker '27 addressed participants and discussed his journey as a council member. "It gave me a chance to serve my class and eventually the school," said Sleeker.

Initially ambivalent about taking on extra responsibilities and being in the spotlight, Sleeker discussed his appreciation of the opportunities, relationships, and personal growth he's gained as a council member, and asked participants to take this lesson to heart. "As we start another school year, I encourage everyone to do one thing that makes you uncomfortable," he said. "You never know what might come from simply saying 'yes.'"

He's always one step ahead! Yesterday, our kindergarten boys set off in search of the gingerbread man, with stops at the Lower School gym, art room, library, Head of Lower School Lisa Snider's office, and the Spanish room. This fun tradition helps the boys learn their way around and get to know the people and places they'll be visiting throughout the year.

It was a joy to see our Upper School students begin the school year yesterday. Today, our Lower and Middle School students joined them on campus, and we couldn't be happier. Welcome, Saints! We look forward to the adventures, stories, and opportunities that this year will bring. 👏👏👏

A time-honored tradition, the All-School Opening Service, is this Friday, Sept. 4 at 8:30 a.m. when we will officially commence the 2026-2027 school year. Parents–particularly the parents of seniors and Kindergarten boys–are invited to attend.

Here’s a preview of StC’s campus improvements that happened over the summer. We cannot wait for these spaces to be up and running later this fall!

Meet some of StC's new faculty and staff! We welcomed 24 new Saints to campus this week for orientation and have loved getting to know them. Wishing them (and all returning faculty and staff) a great school year.

Alumnus Darius Gray '26 has had an "elite" summer practice season, according to the University of South Carolina's head football coach, Shane Beamer. When Beamer asked Gray to let him know if the pressure became too much, he responded, "Coach, I went to St. Christopher's." Enough said, Darius! 👏👏👏

Read this great RTD story for more, including a shout-out to StC's Coach Lance Clelland. Go Saints! https://richmond.com/sports/college/article_41e33071-7fae-422d-ba40-024222337395.html

Happy ! We were thrilled to have two alumni, Steven Bishara '25 and Thomas Ferguson '25, join StC's development and communications offices as interns this summer!

One of the projects Bishara and Ferguson have helped with explores the physical evolution of the school's campus. The two have spent days going through old photographs, early issues of the "Pine Needle," and other archival materials to help create a comprehensive historical overview.

Bishara's return to campus as an intern has given him a fresh perspective on his alma mater. Faculty and staff members are now colleagues and friends, and the work in StC's archives has stirred up old recollections of one of his favorite places on campus. "I had a lot of good memories of Scott Gym," Bishara said, "As a brand-new Middle School student, I remember going to all those basketball games and seeing the older guys. It's really nice to see where it all started."

The work on the archival project also reminds Ferguson, a rising sophomore at Virginia Tech, of one of his favorite places. "The school gym actually started in what is now Memorial Chapel," he said. "In the Upper School, we'd see our friends there, get ready for the day. It was a good way to start the day with all of us together. I wish it were something that I had more of in my college life."

Thanks for everything, gentlemen. We've appreciated your help this summer, and we wish you all the best when you return to college. Go Saints!

Thanks to the generosity of our Saints alumni, parents, grandparents and friends, we achieved another record-breaking year for The St. Christopher’s Fund.

These gifts help our boys learn and grow, laugh and play, but most importantly, develop into young men who possess honor and integrity. They also provide the resources necessary to recruit, reward, and retain our exceptional educators who bring out the best in every boy. Thank you, Saints!

Our Middle School boys had an incredible time in Australia! A mix of seventh and eighth graders spent time in Sydney, where they surfed, visited the Sydney Opera House, and saw other landmarks. The group also spent time in the bush, meeting with fellow International Boys School Coalition schools: Scots College and Sydney's Glengarry campus in the Kangaroo Valley.

The trip was a landmark experience for our students, during which they learned to travel internationally, work together, and achieve goals in a variety of unfamiliar settings. "Everywhere they went, our boys made a good impression," said Middle School History Teacher Jon Piper, a staff chaperone who accompanied the boys. "This experience is definitely going to be a core memory. The boys overcame many obstacles and experienced a lot of pride and self-realization. This was a long trip, and they handled it with grace and poise."

Their adventures included encounters with wildlife, bandicooting through rocks, and a Tough Mudder event, where they learned to adapt to their surroundings, collaborate, and overcome challenges. We're so proud of you, boys. Go Saints!
