Week 3 of Summer Scholars is officially in the books, and our students continue to amaze us!

Over the past two weeks, we've focused on the character traits of Kindness and Gratitude—learning not only through our lessons, but through stories, conversations, and acts of kindness each day.

One of our favorite parts of the week was gathering together today in our reading tent to enjoy Scribble Stones. After the story, each student showcased their creativity by designing and painting a unique rock filled with color, imagination, and heart!

These special rocks will soon be hidden throughout the Richmond campus or shared with others to spread smiles, encouragement, and a little extra happiness wherever they go.

Be sure to check out the incredible creativity in these painted rocks-we're so proud of our young artists!

We can't wait for Week 4, where our focus shifts to Perseverance. We know our students are ready to keep learning, growing, and showing what it means to never give up!

A group of RCS educators went to Atlanta to learn about the Ron Clark Academy and more ways to bring the ongoing energy of the house systems back to our campus. Thank you for taking time in your summer as dedication to our students!

Richmond Summer Scholars is off to a GREAT start!

What an incredible first couple weeks of learning, laughter, and fun! Our students have jumped right in, building their reading and math skills while making new friends and creating wonderful summer memories along the way.

A huge shoutout to our amazing Summer Scholars teachers for creating engaging, positive classrooms where every student can learn and grow. We are also so thankful for our incredible Teacher Cadets, Miss Gabbie and Miss Elizabeth, who have been such a bright spot each day! Their enthusiasm, kindness, and willingness to help our students and staff have made a tremendous impact.

We can't wait to see all the growth our students make over the next few weeks. Here's to a summer filled with learning, confidence, and smiles!

This morning, the Richmond Community Schools Board of Education officially welcomed Mr. Cusumano as the district's new Superintendent.

We are excited to welcome Mr. Cusumano to the Blue Devil family and look forward to the leadership, experience, and vision he brings to our district. As we begin this new chapter together, we are confident that his dedication to our students, staff, families, and the Richmond community will help build on our strong tradition of excellence.
