From tonight's update:

"We are working with the Department of Toxic Substances Control (DTSC) and our third-party testing agency to conduct additional environmental testing to determine the level of health risk present on campus and complete any necessary mitigation. This expedited testing begins tomorrow, August 6.

The District is engaging with multiple agencies to ensure that we make informed decisions with care for our students and staff, taking into account our preliminary test results and input from the scientists who interpret such results. We encourage our community to view last night’s story on ABC 7 news, which includes the perspective of medical professionals.

We invite our community to attend a cross-agency town hall tomorrow, Thursday, August 6, at the Richmond Auditorium from 6:30pm-8pm. Officials from WCCUSD, DTSC, and the City of Richmond will share updates related to the ongoing environmental testing efforts that are impacting both the Kennedy High School campus and the adjacent swim center operated by the City. This town hall will also be livestreamed via WCCUSD YouTube."
