The West Contra Costa Unified School District Food Services Department is committed to providing healthy school meals and snacks to the students of the West Contra Costa School District. The team of dedicated food and nutrition professionals supports student academic abc success and promotes healthful eating habits that lead to lifelong positive nutrition practices. School meals are served to students under the National School Lunch Program and the School Breakfast Program and follow the nutrition guidelines prescribed by The Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act of 2010. The law was designed to reduce the incidence of childhood obesity by providing healthier choices to students. To learn more about school meal regulations visit www.traytalk.org

✨A very special moment to share✨
I’m excited to share that I (Luis Mazariegos) was featured in School Nutrition Magazine, where I had the opportunity to tell a little about my journey, my family, and how those experiences have influenced the work I do with WCCUSD Food Services. 🍎🥗🌱
One of the most meaningful parts of this story was being able to talk about my mom, Mama Juana, who passed away last year. ❤️ Her love for cooking, family, and bringing people together around the table continues to inspire me. I dedicate this special feature to her memory.
A special thank you to our Executive Director, Barbara Jellison, for giving me the opportunity to become part of this program years ago, and to my WCCUSD Food Services coworkers who continue to inspire and support me every day.
I’m proud of where I come from, proud of the work we do, and grateful to be able to share a piece of my story. 🙏🏽

Me emociona mucho compartir que tuve la oportunidad de aparecer en School Nutrition Magazine, donde pude contar un poco sobre mi trayectoria, mi familia y cómo esas experiencias han influido en el trabajo que realizo con WCCUSD Food Services. 🍎🥗🌱
Una de las partes más significativas de esta historia fue poder hablar sobre mi mamá, Mama Juana, quien falleció el año pasado. ❤️ Su amor por la cocina, la familia y por reunir a todos alrededor de la mesa continúa inspirándome.
Un agradecimiento muy especial a nuestra Directora Ejecutiva, Barbara Jellison, por haberme dado la oportunidad de formar parte de este programa hace varios años, y a todos mis compañeros de WCCUSD Food Services, quienes continúan inspirándome y apoyándome todos los días.
Me siento orgulloso de mis raíces, orgulloso del trabajo que hacemos y muy agradecido de poder compartir una parte de mi historia. 🙏🏽

Dear WCCUSD Families, Welcome Back

We’re excited to remind you that all WCCUSD students can enjoy breakfast and lunch at school at no charge! Through California’s Universal Meals Program, every student has access to nutritious school meals regardless of household income or eligibility status.

At WCCUSD Food Services, we are proud to serve fresh, locally sourced, and certified organic foods. Our meals meet and exceed USDA nutrition requirements, while focusing on healthy, delicious options that give students the energy they need to learn and thrive.

No application or payment is required for students—just come and enjoy a meal!

Meals for Adults:

We are also happy to offer our school meals to adults. Because we are a federally funded Child Nutrition Program, adult meals are not covered by the Universal Meals Program and must be purchased at the following prices:

Breakfast: $5.00
Lunch: $7.00
Thank you for allowing WCCUSD Food Services to nourish and support our students every day. We look forward to serving your children throughout the school year!

Nos complace recordarles que todos los estudiantes de WCCUSD pueden disfrutar de desayuno y almuerzo en la escuela sin costo alguno. A través del Programa de Comidas Universales de California, todos los estudiantes tienen acceso a comidas escolares nutritivas, sin importar los ingresos del hogar o su elegibilidad.

En el Departamento de Servicios de Alimentos de WCCUSD, nos enorgullece ofrecer alimentos frescos, de origen local y orgánicos certificados. Nuestras comidas cumplen y superan los requisitos nutricionales del USDA, con un enfoque en opciones saludables y deliciosas que brindan a nuestros estudiantes la energía que necesitan para aprender, crecer y prosperar.

No se requiere solicitud ni pago para los estudiantes. ¡Simplemente vengan y disfruten de una comida!

Comidas para adultos:

También nos complace ofrecer nuestras comidas escolares a los adultos. Debido a que somos un Programa de Nutrición Infantil financiado con fondos federales, las comidas para adultos no están cubiertas por el Programa de Comidas Universales y deben comprarse a los siguientes precios:

Desayuno: $5.00
Almuerzo: $7.00

Thank you for bringing your children and teens to enjoy FREE summer meals with our Mobile Kitchen this summer. It has been our pleasure serving your community!

Today, Thursday, August 6, is the final day of Mobile Kitchen meal service.

Join us tomorrow, Friday, August 7, for our Special Summer BBQ from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at:

🌽✨ It's Corn on the Cob season! ✨🌽
Every summer, during Corn Month, we're proud to serve our students fresh, locally grown corn on the cob. Tomorrow, our Summer School students across the district will once again enjoy sweet, delicious corn harvested from Catalan Farm and delivered directly to our cafeterias.
Providing fresh, seasonal, and locally sourced produce is just one of the many ways we're committed to serving nutritious, high-quality meals that help our students learn, grow, and thrive. We can't wait to see everyone enjoying this summer favorite! 🌽💚
