On behalf of & club, thank you to everyone who helped plan, execute, and support the 1st Annual Black History Month Program at Madison Central High School! From our family and friends to the entire Richmond and Madison County community—your presence made this celebration of Black Excellence truly unforgettable. Thank you to our head principal, Mr. Fritz for giving us the space to be intentional and creative.

Meet Willa Brown Chappell—the first Black woman in the U.S. to earn both a pilot’s license and a commercial aviation license! ✈️✨ A trailblazer in the skies and a champion for Black aviators, she helped train Tuskegee Airmen and fought for racial equality in aviation. Her legacy still soars today!

Meet Anna Mac Clarke: A trailblazer who broke barriers in the U.S. Army! ✊🏾✨ As the first Black woman to command an all-white unit in the Women’s Army Corps during WWII, she paved the way for desegregation in the military. Her courage and leadership deserve to be remembered!
