The Storytellers Channel produces workshops and performances showcasing the authentic stories of everyday people. We believe everyone has stories, good stories.

Under the guidance of experienced professionals, workshop participants are able to collaborate to shape and share their personal stories. The Storytellers Channel was founded by storytellers. Unfortunately, not everyone knows how to tell their stories so others will want to listen. Some of us cut to the chase too soon leaving out important elements. Others rattle on, never getting to the point. Still others of us are afraid of rejection and so keep our stories to ourselves.

Leading with Clarity When Conditions Are Uncertain

Uncertainty doesn’t go away.

Markets shift.
Conditions change.
New challenges emerge.

What distinguishes strong organizations is not the absence of uncertainty.

It’s how they operate within it.

When leadership values are clear and consistently applied:

Decisions happen with confidence
Leaders act without waiting
Communication becomes more consistent
Trust strengthens across the organization

And performance holds—even when conditions change.

This is the work we do at The Storytellers Channel.

We help leaders make their company’s values clear so others can make decisions with confidence.

Because organizations scale when decisions stop depending on the founder and start relying on clearly understood values.

If your team is navigating uncertainty and decisions still tend to flow upward, it may be time to start the conversation.

When Values Are Clear, Decisions Become Clear

Most organizations have values.

Far fewer use them to guide decisions.

In stable times, that gap can go unnoticed.

In uncertain times, it becomes visible.

Because values only help when they are:

Clearly defined
Prioritized when they conflict
Understood in practice

This is where many leadership teams struggle.

Values sound right.

But they don’t yet guide behavior.

At The Storytellers Channel, we help leadership teams make their values clear, prioritized, and usable in real decisions.

Values provide the standards.
Story provides the example.

Stories show what those values look like when the stakes are real and the path isn’t obvious.

That’s how clarity becomes actionable.

What Stabilizes Organizations When Conditions Are Unclear

When conditions are uncertain, leaders often try to provide more direction.

More updates.
More guidance.
More explanation.

But what people need most is not more information.

They need clear standards for decision-making.

Standards that answer:

What matters most right now?
How will tradeoffs be made?
What does good judgment look like here?

Values provide those standards.

Values are the criteria leaders use to make decisions—especially when the right answer isn’t obvious.

When values are clear and consistently applied, something important happens.

People don’t have to wait.

They can act.

Not because the path is certain.

Because the way decisions are made is.

Why Uncertainty Spreads Inside Organizations

Uncertainty in the market does not automatically create uncertainty inside an organization.

Leaders do.

When communication is inconsistent…
When priorities shift without explanation…
When decisions don’t align with stated values…

People begin to guess.

They hesitate.
They wait for direction.
They second-guess their own judgment.

And uncertainty spreads.

Not because the external environment is unclear.

Because the internal signals are.

In times like these, people are not just looking for answers.

They are looking for consistency.

Consistency in what matters.
Consistency in how decisions are made.
Consistency in how leaders behave.

When that consistency is missing, even strong teams lose momentum.

Leading When the Path Isn’t Clear

Periods of uncertainty test leadership.

Not because leaders don’t care.
But because the path forward isn’t obvious.

Information changes.
Conditions shift.
Decisions carry more weight.

In moments like these, leaders often look for better answers.

But what organizations need most is not perfect answers.

They need clarity and consistency.

Clarity about what matters most.
Consistency in how decisions are made.
Alignment between what is said and what is done.

That clarity doesn’t come from circumstance.

It comes from values.

Values are the standards leaders use to make decisions—especially when tradeoffs are difficult and the right path isn’t obvious.

When those values are clear and consistently applied, something important happens.

People don’t have to guess.

They can act.

And even in uncertain times, the organization can move forward with confidence.

Building a Leadership Bench That Can Lead

A strong leadership bench is not built through titles or training alone.

It develops when people understand how decisions are meant to be made.

When leadership values are clear and prioritized:

Leaders act with confidence
Decisions happen faster
Authority moves outward
Alignment strengthens

And leadership capacity expands.

This is the work we do at The Storytellers Channel.

We help leaders make their company’s values clear so others can make decisions with confidence.

Because organizations scale when decisions stop depending on the founder and start relying on clearly understood values.

If decisions in your organization still tend to flow upward, it may be time to start the conversation.

Where do decisions tend to bottleneck in your organization?

Turning Values into a Decision System

Most leadership teams can name their values.

Fewer can use them.

Because values only guide decisions when they are:

Clearly defined
Prioritized
Understood in practice

This is where many organizations stall.

Values sound right.

But they don’t yet shape behavior.

At The Storytellers Channel, we help leadership teams define their values in clear, visible terms, prioritize them, and align on how those values guide decisions.

Values provide the standards.
Story provides the example.

Stories show what those values look like under real pressure.

That’s how judgment becomes clear—and shareable.

Tomorrow I’ll show how this work strengthens leadership capacity across the organization.
