🫁 How You Breathe: Learn About the Respiratory System 🫁

On March 22, 2025, we hosted a successful workshop in collaboration with 4-H! Kids had fun learning about the respiratory system, how their lungs work, and why breathing is essential for oxygen flow. Through fun, hands-on science activities, they even built their own lung models to see inhalation and exhalation in action!

Science comes to life when kids can engage in interactive learning, and today was a huge success! Thanks to everyone who joined us for this educational STEM workshop—stay tuned for more amazing science events!

Through Project EmpowerMed, Osmosis STEM collaborated with Arise and Shine CBO to improve health education in Kisumu, Kenya. By distributing pamphlets on HIV/AIDS, non-communicable diseases, maternal mental health, and nutrition, this project is making essential healthcare information accessible to underserved communities. This initiative is a step toward better health awareness and improved well-being for those who need it most.

Project EmpowerMed has impacted over 500 individuals in underved communities in Kenya. The medical pamphlets served as an integral to health education and promotion programs in the rural communities, with Community Health Promoters using them to spark dialogue and encourage behavior change among community members. These materials have reached underserved populations, fostering awareness and early intervention.
