This Tuesday: Help a Jobs for Life student nail their interview! STEP's Jobs for Life students have been hard at work over the last few weeks preparing their resumes for Mock Interview Night! We need three more volunteers to serve as mock interviewers on Tuesday evening. As a mock interviewer, you will meet with students for 15 minutes each to ask them sample interview questions and provide helpful feedback.

Details: 6-8pm, Tuesday, May 5th at Grace Covenant Presbyterian Church. Dinner included! Please arrive at 5:45pm if you are able. DM us if you are planning to come!

Lori Michelle is a Richmond, Virginia–based singer and songwriter. Her mezzo-soprano voice carries both tenderness and strength, offering an authentic sound that connects faith and everyday life. Since releasing her debut album Keep (2009), Lori has continued to write and collaborate on projects that inspire spiritual depth and human connection, including Arrabon 2: Songs of Joy and Lament by David M. Bailey. Through her music and message, Lori encourages others to live with wholeness, authenticity and faith.

Born and raised in the Virginia area, Jewell Booker migrated reaching international
recognition in South Africa, the Dominican Republic, and the UK. She has used her versatile voice to minister to the people, and as a missionary she further developed the ability to serve others. The depths of her are more than soulful undertones of R&B, jazz, gospel, blues, and go-go, the ambience of her presence is just pure delight! As a songwriter, she shares LIFE MUSIC from a Christian perspective. As a recording artist, she has completed 3 projects: Love Notes, LIVE!, Love Sick 2020, and A Jewell Booker Christmas, Vol. 1. Jewell’s music takes you along the journey of REAL LIFE with her!

Since their formation, the Roper Sisters have captivated audiences with their intimate performances and musical excellence, earning them a loyal fanbase and critical acclaim. Their EP, Songs for Hard Times, released in 2020, explores themes of love, loss, and faith. They will be joined by Hannah’s husband, Daniel Madison, a local award-winning musician known for playing banjo with Josh Grigsby and County Line.

Skye released her first album Where The Winter Was in 2023 after studying theology in England and Kentucky. Splitting her time between touring and writing hymns for Getty Music, Skye also finished recording her second album All The Difference, which was voted “Best Christian Album” by The Gospel Coalition. During that time, Skye’s hymn “I Am Not My Own” was nominated for a Dove award, and she released many other songs for the local church while continuing to tour her solo album.

Back to School would not be possible without an army of volunteers! We are so thankful to the local office of USI Insurance Services for showing up to sort supplies and fill backpacks, and for every individual who ran the registration table, distributed backpacks, popped popcorn, and made snow cones!
