The Lending Library and Resource Center and Clubs Resume Tomorrow.
Website: www.homeschoollibrary.org
The Lending Library and Resource Center re-opens on its regular schedule tomorrow, Thursday, January 10th from 1:00-4:00 pm.
We will have the following clubs:
1:00 pm - Story of the World Volume 2 Activities
We read 1 chapter each week on our own. We then come together on Thursday at 1:00 pm and do activities corresponding to the chapter we read. Some of the things we do are make food, play games or do crafts.
2:00 pm - Science Experiments for General Science
We get together to conduct experiments on a wide variety of science topics. Some of the topics we cover include atoms, geology, energy, anatomy, cells and genetics.
3:00 pm - Cover Story
Join us for a fun, thought-provoking journey creating the content for our own digital magazine throughout the school year. Students write poems, short stories, nonfiction articles, letters, and many other pieces like fashion, sports, and current event articles. Students will learn to observe and record their thoughts and ideas like writers. This inclusive programs covers grammar, spelling, writing structure and proofreading. Students will also learn how to enter their content digitally and format a digital periodical, as well as sign up subscribers and manage a subscriber database. Exciting for avid storytellers but lighthearted and practical enough for reluctant writers.
The Library is hosted at the Pine Street Baptist Church, 400 S. Pine Street, Richmond, VA 23220. The library is in the building next to the church and the entrance is in the rear of the building.
There is street parking available and a parking lot, too.
Check our website or page for more information or with questions.
