Tuckaway-West Opening in 1971, Tuckaway-West was the very first Tuckaway school. Opening in 1971, Tuckaway West was the very first Tuckaway school.

This location proudly maintains a close-knit family feel. Parents frequently comment on how many hugs their children receive. West's separate classrooms provide close attention for younger children and the large school-age classroom features a sunny back porch area for woodworking, painting, or other crafts. The school's small group sizes allow its caring staff to know every child's unique persona

lity. Outside, West offers acres of playground space. In fact, the playground is so big that everyone at the school can go outside at the same time and still have plenty of room, so children can run and play freely under the caring supervision of staff. Tuckaway West also features two swimming pools: a wading pool for budding swimmers, and a larger pool suitable for swimming lessons and play. Tuckaway West can be easy to miss, because it is "tucked away" in the West End (but still convenient to I-64).

Our preschoolers have been loving the fresh air and sunshine as they start their days outside!

From creating colorful masterpieces with sidewalk chalk, to kicking, tossing, and chasing balls, our mornings have been filled with movement, creativity, and lots of smiles!

We’ve been settling in and adjusting to new schedules, new classrooms, and new friends!

The beginning of a new school year is full of changes, excitement, and a few adjustments along the way. Our children and teachers have been learning new routines and getting to know one another.

Our Summer Cookout was absolutely fantastic! We are so grateful to all of our amazing families who came out to spend the evening with us.

We truly couldn’t do what we do without the support of our families. Thank you for trusting us with your children, for being part of our Tuckaway family, and for taking the time to make these special memories with us.

Watching our families come together, laugh, enjoy good food, and make memories is what it’s all about! Thank you for making our Summer Cookout one to remember! We appreciate each and every one of you!

A special milestone for three of our Yellowbirds! 💛

Yesterday they had the opportunity to visit their future school, where they’ll be starting kindergarten in just a few short weeks. These three have been together since they were 2½-3 years old, growing, learning, laughing, and making countless memories side by side.

Watching them take this next big step together is so special. We are incredibly proud of each of them and can’t wait to see all the amazing things they’ll accomplish. Kindergarten is lucky to have this sweet trio!
