The majority of historical, craft, and educational programs at Fort Boonesborough and Boone Station Historic Site are supported by funding from the foundation. Thank you to all who attended Gathering of Descendants on June 20,2026. The weather was perfect and visitors from 11 states registered for the day interested in gathering family information. . We thank all the family groups and organizations who were there to help our visitors find information about their families. Thank you Nancy O’Malley and Randell Jones for their presentations, all the volunteers helping make the day possible and the park staff for help getting everything set up. Mark your calendars for June 19,2027 and we’ll do it all again.

The Gathering of Descendants scheduled for Saturday, June 20,2026 has a full day planned, see if you can find more information about a relatives, hear Randell Jones tell the story of the capture of the girls , enjoy lunch at the concession tent, visit the cabins and experience life at Fort Boonesborough. At 2 p.m. take the shuttle down to the original fort site on the Kentucky River and hear Nancy O’Malley tell the story of discoveries during the archeological “dig”. Admission Adults $8, Children 7-12 $5, Children 5 and under free. Open 9-4:30 Free shuttles to the fort from the parking lot on Hwy388. Sponsored by Fort Boonesborough Foundation and The Society of Boonesborough.

Come for the genealogy and family history information and learn about land grants, hear author Randell Jones speak and visit the original fort site and hear archeologist Nancy O’Malley! A full day with lunch available at concession tent, cabins open and interpreters ready with interesting information. Fort Boonesborough Foundation will have T -shirts, books and 250th items for sale AND have the opportunity to enter the Rifle And Axe raffles. Open 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Admission: Adults $8, Children 6-12 $5.00 and Children 5 and under free.
