Great times this week with WHES! First field trip in years for the 5th grader and first real in-person activity night for the Kinder! Thanks everyone!

Over the last 14 weeks we’ve highlighted the 14 RPS elementary schools that partner with our Explorers program. In case you missed any, here’s a recap! 🎉

These incredible partners help us explore nature🌿 and science🔬 with 3rd-5th graders. Today, get to know Westover Hills Elementary! 🏫 Westover Hills Elementary School is located south of the river and their mascot is the beaver! 🦫

Free Extended Day Program for Next Year (2021-2022)

In partnership with the City of Richmond and various community partners, RPS will be providing FREE extended day programming – including enrichment and academic support – to any preschool-5th grade families who wish to participate next year. Snacks and transportation will be included. If you're interested, please complete this survey by August 11.

What a year!

These kids have made it through and adapted so well to a fully virtual experience. We are so proud! Many thanks to the teachers and staff of WHES fir bringing the normal when you could and for holding it all together!

The Richmond Public Library's summer reading program begins June 12th! Pick up a reading log from any Richmond Public Library branch or download one from the web site. We'll also have summer reading logs to pass out at our Chromebook collection on June 17th!

Read this summer because reading is fun, but also because you can win some great prizes.

It's Lit Limo Thursday! The Lit Limo will be at the Belt Atlantic at 4:00 and Westover Hills Elementary School at 4:30. Come out and join Blue Sky Fund at WHES at 4:30 for Science Outside too!

The community pantry is stocked and waiting for you! Come grab groceries and supplies. Have a nonperishable or toiletries you aren't going to use? Drop them off at the pantry.
