🗣️ Farriers, we want to hear from you!

Looking back to when you were a new farrier, what’s one thing you wish you would’ve spent more time learning, practicing, or focusing on? 👇

Was it trimming? Shoe fit? Anatomy? Forging? Business skills? Handling horses?

Another Day in the Shop 🔥🐴

There’s always something happening around KHS! From shaping and fitting shoes to hands-on learning, our students are putting in the work and building the skills they’ll use every day as farriers.

It’s not just about putting a shoe on a foot—it’s about understanding the horse, the foot, and why we do what we do. 💪

Nothing fancy—just good horses, hard work, and getting the job done. 🤠🐴🔨

Mitch has been putting in the work behind the scenes, designing digital learning material focused on the distal equine limb. 🐴📚

From anatomy and structures to understanding how everything works together, these resources are being built to give students a deeper understanding of the limb and how that knowledge applies to everyday farriery.

At KHS, we’re always looking for new ways to make learning more accessible, visual, and hands-on—because understanding why we do something is just as important as knowing how to do it.

Here’s a sneak peek of it ⬇️

Dissecting & Lecturing 🐴🔬

There’s more to becoming a great farrier than what happens under the horse. At KHS, students get hands-on opportunities to dissect, study anatomy, and learn through lectures that connect what they see in the classroom to what they experience in the shop.

Understanding what’s underneath the hoof helps our students make better decisions above it. Learn the anatomy. Understand the mechanics. Become a better farrier.
