☀️ Spreading a little sunshine on a Friday afternoon! ☀️

Today during nap time, our incredible School Director, Ms. Nancy, surprised our staff by bringing the Sunshine Cart down the halls! 🛒✨

She completely stocked it with all kinds of chocolate treats to brighten our teachers' days—from chocolate-covered pretzels and raisins to a variety of chocolate bars. 🍫🥨

It truly is the little things that keep us going and completely make our days. We are so incredibly thankful for Ms. Nancy's caring, generous nature and how she always goes above and beyond to support our team.

🚒 A HUGE thank you to the Community Fire Department! 🚒

Our students had an unforgettable day today! We were thrilled to welcome our local firefighters to campus for an exciting, hands-on lesson in fire safety.

The fire crew went above and beyond by:
• 🧯 Teaching our students critical safety tips and what to do in an emergency.
• 👨‍🚒 Showing off their heavy-duty safety gear and lifesaving equipment.
• 🚛 Giving everyone an up-close, exciting tour of the real fire truck!

It was a fantastic, educational experience for our classes. More than anything, it was an incredible opportunity for our students to meet, learn from, and say thank you to some of our real-life community heroes! ❤️

Children’s Lighthouse of New Braunfels owner, Ashley Hempton, recently joined KENS 5’s Great Day San Antonio to show how a colorful fall craft can become a hands-on learning experience for little learners. 🍂🎨

While creating stained glass fall leaves, children can explore why leaves change color, experiment with layering tissue paper, and discover what happens when light passes through different materials.

Tearing, placing, and arranging each piece also gives little hands plenty of fine motor practice along the way.

📸 A Week of Learning, Creativity, and Play at Children’s Lighthouse! 🌟🏫

Last week was an incredible week at Children's Lighthouse at Grand Mission, filled with hands-on discovery both inside the classroom and out on the playground! Here is a sneak peek at what our amazing students were up to:

👩‍🍳 Pretend Play: Our littlest chefs used their big imaginations to stir up tasty treats in the play kitchen, building fine motor and social sharing skills!

🔢 Bilingual Math: Hands-on palm tree counting games made math a fun adventure—one, two, dos!

🖍️ Phonics & Literacy: Traced "My Apple Tree" worksheets and used bright purple dot markers for the letter M. Pre-writing and letter recognition skills grew every day!

🍂 Autumn Art: Strengthened our pincer grasp and coordination by crafting vibrant tissue-paper fall apples.

🐾 Social-Emotional Learning: Developed deep empathy, responsibility, and communication skills by exploring how to properly care for our pet friends.

🧗‍♂️ Active Playground Fun: Soaked up the fresh sunshine while scaling the climbing wall to build upper body strength, balance, and confidence!
