October is Dyslexia Awareness month!

This is something I shared on my personal FB page last week about one of my former students:

So, I just got another text message about a student for whom I provided academic therapy services. It was determined he had dyslexia at the age of 9. I worked with him for a few years for three days per week. His parents were blessed to get him into a private school for students with language-based differences/disabilities, which he needed. He was able to get specialized instruction all day. Anyway, his parents just reached to say he graduated this year!! He has been accepted to a 4-year university in Maryland. His major will be in the creative arts. They just wanted me to know that I was part of his success. I LOVE it when a plan comes together.
