Thursday, families enjoyed making tiny terrariums at the Wayne County Family Resource Center. Participants learned about succulents and how to care for them. It was great fun.

Did you know that the humble potato is native to South America? Potatoes made their American debut on Thomas Jefferson’s table. Barb Delhagen and Jody Marsee addressed tips for growing potatoes, their history, nutritional value, and demonstrated how to prepare potato cakes at Wayne County Family Resource Center. The best part was sampling the old fashioned pinwheel potato candy.

Master Gardeners are celebrating Beatrix Potter at MRL’s Story Con. Come down and make a tiny garden or do a painting with us.

Wayne County Master Gardeners will be attending the Story Con at MRL Saturday. Bring the family to our booth where we celebrate gardener/artist/storyteller, Beatrix Potter. Families will have an opportunity to paint with watercolors and plant a tiny garden of their own.

The library is turning into a massive "fan convention," a festival dedicated to everything we love in pop culture, gaming, and storytelling. This is a day to celebrate your favorite hobbies, meet fellow enthusiasts, and explore the worlds of tabletop gaming, digital play, and creative arts.

● Gaming: Board games, video games, and Dungeons & Dragons sessions.
● Creativity: Hands-on crafting, LEGO stations, cosplay.
● Expert Panels: Hear from local experts in the film, toy, and gaming industries.

This event is FREE and open to all ages.

Wednesday Jody Marsee presented a workshop on preserving and pressing flowers at the Richmond Senior Recreation Center. Everyone in the group made beautiful sun catchers using pressed flowers. Wayne County Master Gardeners are also selling flower presses for $10 each. If you are interested in purchasing a flower press, contact Jody at 765-259-1197.
