What a wonderful way to kick off the school year! It was great to see a full PAC last night as our Early Childhood and Middle School families came together for Back to School Night!

From our time together as a community to conversations in Early Childhood and Middle School classrooms, the evening gave families a closer look at the year ahead, a chance to talk with teachers, and a glimpse into the Montessori experience their children are a part of every day.

Thank you to everyone who was able to join us, and to our amazing Staculty for making the evening so welcoming and meaningful. There is truly no place like Richmond Montessori School. We are so excited for the year ahead! ✏️ 🍎

It’s Phase-in Day! 💙 We had a wonderful first day welcoming some of our new students to RMS! They spent time in their new classrooms, getting comfortable in their spaces, and getting to know their teachers.

Our hearts were full as we kicked off a new school year, and we’re looking forward to all the joyful moments ahead.

Tomorrow, we get to do it all over again as we welcome our next phase-in day!

Fly, Falcons, Fly! 🌎 Our Falcons covered some serious ground this summer! From Charleston to Lake Anna to a baseball game celebrating America’s 250th birthday, the Mayan Ruins in Belize, and the beautiful Scottish Highlands, our students and teachers took RMS to new heights!

Back here in Richmond, there was even a celebrity sighting! Dermot and Kieran Mulroney stopped for a photo while playing in town at the Tin Pan with their band, jackrabbit. feat Dermot Mulroney !

We loved seeing all the place our Falcons landed this summer. Welcome home! 💚💙

What a fantastic first week of Summer Camp at RMS! Our Things That Go and Welcome to Summer Primary camps were packed with crafts, water balloons, new friendships, and plenty of summer smiles. Our Toddler campers soaked up the sunshine with outdoor adventures, story time, and boundless bubbles.

We can’t wait to see everyone back for even more fun in Week Two!☀️

Richmond Montessori School is proud to partner with the Virginia Center for Montessori Studies in launching its new Elementary I & II Teacher Education Program!

We are especially excited that several RMS educators such as Kalyn Gerrity, Stacy O’Shea, Shannon Ciucci, and Marshie Boswell are helping lead this important initiative as instructors.

Through their expertise and experience, they will guide educators in key Montessori areas, including Philosophy, Mathematics, Curriculum Design, Classroom Leadership, Cultural Studies, and more.

Some of our third-year lower elementary students proudly shared research projects today on topics of their choice with families and younger peers, showcasing the incredible growth happening in the heart of their Montessori journey.

Through deep exploration, they practiced research, technology, and presentation skills while building confidence and independence. The celebration continued with the rest of their class sharing beloved and original poetry, followed by a community picnic with families. It was a beautiful day, highlighting both the rigor of our curriculum and the strong, connected community that supports the growth of the whole child.
The other lower elementary classes will enjoy this right of passage on Thursday.
