Today marks 34 years since the Americans with Disabilities Act was signed into law! The Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 or ADA is a civil rights law that prohibits discrimination based on disability. It was amended in 2008 where the definition of “disability” was broadened, thereby extending the ADA’s protections to a greater number of people. The ADA has provided significant improvements in terms of access to public services, accessibility in the built environment, and societal understanding of disability. Disability rights are civil rights!

June 27th is PTSD Awareness Day! Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is a mental health problem. PTSD can only develop after you go through or see a life-threatening event. It's normal to have stress reactions to these types of events, and most people start to feel better after a few weeks. If symptoms last longer than a month and are causing problems in your life, it could be PTSD.
To learn more about PTSD and how you can spread awareness, here is a great site:

The month of May is Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome Awareness Month! Ehlers-Danlos Syndromes (EDS) are a group of rare inherited conditions that affect the connective tissue providing support in skin, tendons, ligaments, blood vessels, internal organs and bones.
We wanted to highlight Billie Eilish, a singer with hypermobility. An article in Vogue states: “Years of subsequent lower body injuries, and just as many misdiagnoses, increased the alienation Eilish felt in her own skin before she discovered, through her movement coach, Kristina Cañizares, that she has a condition called hypermobility.” Biliie Eilish has since found the love and strength of her body. Throughout the duration of this month and beyond, we encourage you to advocate and spread awareness for those with EDS!
