It's National Library Week! This week and every week, we thank and celebrate the amazing librarians and library specialists who support children's literacy efforts around the world.

TowneBank Richmond and Executive Women International Richmond Chapter supported Redd Elementary's Virginia Reads One Book program, which culminated with an amazing end-of-the-read celebration! Virginia Bankers Association and Read to Them staff were delighted to attend the festivities.

We are always so happy to see schools and the surrounding community celebrating One Book together!

Each April, National Poetry Month gives folks the opportunity to celebrate the importance of poetry and the poets whose works actively enrich our lives. Poetry also presents a wondrous opportunity: the chance to build a bridge between reluctant readers and a love of books.

Read to Them staff was delighted to be invited to a recent Family Literacy Night at Patrick Copeland Elementary School in Hopewell, VA. The school celebrated reading "Charlotte's Web" together with food, games, face painting, a petting zoo, and more. It was such a wonderful event. Thank you, Patrick Copeland Elementary!

This year, Madison Elementary, a school within a close-knit community in the suburbs of Chicago, continued its One School, One Book program for a 4th year. According to Principal Katherine Zulauf, a strong partnership between home and school is one of Madison Elementary’s top values.
