This morning Madison Central FFA hosted their Farmer Appreciation Breakfast at Union City General Store. 🚜 This event is especially meaningful as agriculture is such an important part of the foundation of Madison County.

The breakfast provided a chance to recognize the farmers who work every day to feed our families, care for the land, provide for our communities, and keep agriculture moving forward. Additionally, it gave students the chance to showcase their Supervised Agricultural Experiences (SAEs) and how they are continuing that agricultural legacy. SAEs allow students to take what they learn in the classroom and apply it through real-world agricultural experiences whether that involves raising livestock, growing crops, working in an agricultural business, completing an internship, or developing an entrepreneurial project.

Overall it was a great morning of celebrating local farmers and the impact learning about agriculture and FFA has on our students!💛💙

Last week Daniel Boone Elementary held their annual Hispanic Heritage celebration. 💚💛

Every station, activity, presentation, and community partner was intentionally included to help our Pioneers see themselves, learn about others, and celebrate what makes each of us unique.

A huge thank-you to our incredible community partners, families, staff, and students who helped make this celebration a success.

On Friday we partnered with God's Outreach Madison County Food Bank and Richmond Kroger to "Stuff the Bus".🎒 🚌 This community drive directly benefited our students and backpack program. We are grateful to God's Outreach for putting this on for our kids and their continued partnership!

Each month they provide 3,500 bags of food to Madison County Schools!

MCS Ignite Academy had a great First Responders day for health science students with an emergency medical helicopter landing thanks to Air Methods Mount Sterling.🚁⚕

We are also grateful to Madison County EMS, City of Richmond Kentucky Fire Department, Madison-County Sheriff KY office, and Officer Smoot with Madison County School District Police Department for their participation in this event and making it a memorable experience for students.

White Hall Elementary won Superintendent Neeley's attendance challenge with a 97.12 attendance percentage for the month of September!!! As their prize, the whole school got the opportunity to attend Coach Hamilton's book launch at EKU; each student got to leave with a copy of his new book in their hands. 🏀💛📙

Mr. Neeley would like to congratulate all of the schools on their outstanding numbers and hopes to do more challenges like this in the future!

September is Deaf Awareness Month, a time to celebrate Deaf culture, recognize the history and contributions of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community, and promote understanding and communication accessibility. Here in Madison County Schools, we are proud to have three dedicated Teachers for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) who travel throughout our district to support students from preschool through high school.
