The ExCELL program brings together families, early childhood educators, community resources, and early literacy specialists with the goal of ensuring that children receive the learning opportunities (at home, at preschool, and in the community) necessary to develop critical early language and literacy skills known to predict later reading success.

We had such an amazing time last Saturday during our PBS workshop in partnership with VPM at North Avenue Library. We are really excited about having more learning fun this Saturday and the next one as well. If you are interested in your child participating in this workshop, you are still in time to join us. We had a wonderful time at Summer Hill Preschool last week. The event was all about phonological awareness. To complement the evening resources we had resources from PBS KIDS - Work it Out Wombats.

ExCELL is doing some wonderful things in the schools through the Ready to Learn - Learning Neighborhood initiative in partnership with VPM. We love partnering with Media and Educators to provide families with additional PBS KIDS resources.
VPM partners with the community to build ‘Learning Neighborhoods’ VPM has expanded the Learning Neighborhoods initiative to a third school in 2024.
